New years resolutions…every year…like millions of others…mine was “Get into shape”.

Well when I was making my 2007 resolutions, I thought “How pathetic! I’ve had that same resolution for the past 10 years!” I started to think of all the energy I spent starting and stopping my progress towards this goal, and something clicked. This year I HAD to make this happen, or I would never take it on as a resolution again!

That put the pressure on, and all of a sudden I was on the search for everything and anything I could think of that would help me finally achieve this goal in 2007.

I think my main motivation to do it this year was my Dad. In September of 2006 he had several strokes. He was lucky. He has some damage from them, but at least he can still function at home. Yet, it's still hard to see someone you love...someone who took care of you all your life...deteriorate like that.

I purchased P90X shortly after my Dad’s stroke, but I still didn't commit to it! It wasn't until I was making my New Year's resolutions at the end of 2006 that I made a true decision (cutting myself off from any other possibility).

I vowed to do everything and anything to change. The first thing I did was get back on the message boards because I know that hanging out there works for me. It’s like having a whole community of fitness minded people to “hang out with”.

It was about that time that I decided to become a Beachbody coach too. Walking the talk...that was my motivation there.

After living my whole life saying that "I'm not a runner", I competed in my first race in May of 2007. Instead of a 5K as I had planned (3.1 miles), I did a 5 mile race! And I didn't come in last! LOL! ;)

I've been to a Tony Horton camp and to Beachbody's Coaches Summit...both AWESOME experiences!!! If you want to meet a lot of great fitness minded people, make plans to attend whatever Beachbody event comes near your area!

I’m now down to the same weight that I was in college…over 20 years ago! I'm still on my journey. I'll never stop. I'll just continue to improve one thing at a time. That's what my screen name stands for "Constant And Never-ending Improvement". :)

Here are my biggest motivators:

* To invest in my "older self". My friend Lori said that one day...I liked it...and "borrowed" it! ;-)

* To continue to take my fitness to new levels. Now, I'm continuing to strive to learn to run on a regular basis, and I'm looking to participate in a half marathon in Philadelphia in September of '09.
