I love spending time with family and friends, helping people, sewing, gardening, cooking and believe it or not....doing laundry!! hee hee I have a husband, grown children and 5 grandchildren... along with my relationship with Jesus Christ they are the joy of my life!! When I was young I was very physically active. I took tap dancing and ballet lessons all through grade school and high school and was on rally squad. I played sports and did aerobics.... jogged..... walked... in fact i was voted most athletic girl. However, as the years went by I did less and less. I saw how important it was to stay in shape but as each year rolled around it has become harder to do so. My body ached, my feet were sore and I lost stamina and endurance. Then last year my daughters became involved in MDB thru one of my nieces and and they really encouraged me to join. At first I resisted until finally I decided to just try it....as Tony Horton says ... "just push play". So last June I got the Power 90 dvd and began. I am so happy with the results and I feel and look so much better. I hope you will contact me if you have any questions as I would love to help you meet your goals as we go down the road to getting healthy and fit together. At 61&1/2 years of age, one might think… what’s the use? Why even try? I am way too far over the hill! A few years ago I was diagnosed with Osteoporosis. I had constant backaches, sore feet, along with arthritis sprinkled throughout my body…if that wasn’t enough, I was out of energy before half of the day was over. I was overweight and out of shape and I felt every one of my 61&1/2 years. Hobbling up and down the stairs in our home several times a day was about the extent of my exercise. There was even a period of time when I walked with a cane. My story began back in June of 07 when I “decided” to start the Power 90 workout. My daughter Anna Rose, who is my TEAM Beachbody Coach, set up a workout area in our garage with a TV and a DVD player. I taped an “X” on the floor, like Tony Horton suggested, got my #3 weights, a towel, and a bottle of water and... just pushed play! I was “committing”! I began with Cardio 1-2. I remember thinking to myself, “WOW, this is a hard workout!”... but I finished it! The next day I did Sculpt 1-2. My body was in for a shock! Those push-ups were hard for me, having done absolutely none for the past 40 years, it’s not hard to imagine why! Of course the chair presses were no cakewalk either but…I just kept telling myself; the more I do this the easier it will get, right? And that is just what happened! I was “succeeding” and it felt so great! I have to admit though, between feeling like a spasmo learning all the punching moves and doing the push-ups, or should I say, barely doing the push-ups, I was really challenged. Because of my lower back pain, I had to be very careful doing the leg extensions in the Ab workout. I kept my legs up at an almost 90% angle. I wondered if I would ever be able to do them with my legs in the lower range like the people on the DVD. Well, as I continued to workout 6 days a week plus faithfully doing the Abs daily, I steadily improved and by 8 weeks I could do the leg extensions with my legs low to the ground! I was so excited and I remember how good it felt to have reached that goal. Feeling stronger all over, I moved up to 5# weights. My lower back pain was becoming a thing of the past and I was continuing to “succeed”! I appreciated how Tony Horton encouraged me to go at my own pace, to listen to my own body, and to modify the moves when I needed to. He said it didn’t have to be perfect, but to just keep moving. As I began Power 90 3-4, I looked forward to what would happen as I continued “working out” towards my goal. I decided, committed, and now I was succeeding just like the mission statement of Beachbody says! People were starting to ask me what I was doing and telling me that I really looked great! I knew my body was transforming, but when others noticed it also, it was very affirming and encouraging. My family especially was so supportive, and they just kept rooting me on to victory! What a blessing they were and are! I just kept feeling better all the time. I love to work in the yard, and as the summer went on, I was able to do all the bending, squatting and pulling that was needed as I worked in my flower beds. Before Power 90, I could do very little yard work without being in pain. Now I have the physical ability and the energy to accomplish what I want to do each day. My investment in better health and wellness was paying off big time! With Osteoporosis it is essential to do weight bearing exercises and so I felt good to be following that advice...finally! Not only was I feeling better, I was looking better too and that was fantastic! There are muscles where there had been none before! When I began the program I weighed 144 lbs. and was wearing size 12. Now I weigh 124 lbs. and I just bought a pair of size 6 slacks! Yippee…how exciting is that! I still try to work out 4-6 days a week. I am enjoying doing some of the different workouts. I’ve even done a few P90X routines with my kids, but Power 90 seems to be my “bread & butter”, so to speak. One of my biggest victories is that I can run around chasing my 5 grandchildren with all the vim and vigor that I had while playing with my own 3 children. I have heard it said that if you have your health, you have everything. Shouldn’t we then, take advantage of every opportunity to be as healthy as we can be? TEAM Beachbody’s exercise programs and healthy eating plans helped me to do just that! I turned 62 years young in March, but I am feeling like a million… bucks!! TEAM Beachbody and Power 90 have been life changing for me. The workouts combined with that yummy recovery drink and the delicious P90X bars are my little treats. I feel so great knowing that I’m feeding my body with the highest quality supplements and nutrition available to me. Plus, they taste exquisite! I am so thankful to my niece Traci Morrow for introducing me to TEAM Beachbody. What a wonderful program. It is very exciting to be a part of a community that is making huge efforts to help others along their fitness paths and striving to meet their needs in a real way. I have become a TEAM Beachbody Coach so that I too can share the good news with all the people asking me, “How have you transformed your body and gotten rid of all your aches and pains?” I love to share the hope of TEAM Beachbody. I am so thrilled to have traded in the “old” me for a younger, stronger, more vibrant me. Who is that lady bopping around with the toned arms and wearing size 6 jeans? It’s me! I bounce through my day sometimes even taking two stairs at a time. I have traded that cane in for an elegant pair of dancing shoes. Thank you TEAM Beachbody for helping me to look and feel better than I could have ever imagined possible at the young age of 62!
