Round 1 of P90X started June 17th, 2007. I'm now into round 4.

After moving to Florida, I let the great food offered here get into my life and take hold. Literally! My wife and I enjoyed going out with friends, eating whatever we liked. Doing this for 7 years has really added up. The pounds came on and really just kind of snuck (is that word?) onto my body. Yuck! I really started feeling disgusted with how I looked. Now mind you I wasn't in the worst of shapes, but what I saw in the mirror and how I felt during the day being run down and out of energy played on my emotions and mental health as much as it did my physical one. I love to play golf. My game has generally been very good, but over the years I've seen that when I drive the ball off the tee, it's not been going near as far. That has truly given me fits on trying to find a fix. Nothing I did could significantly improve the distance. And in golf, we all love a great long drive. More on this in a moment.

While on a business trip, I saw an ad for P90X. Wow, was all that I could say. The routines and Tony's enthusiasm were so motivating that I knew this is what I wanted. This might be the answer to helping me regain my shape, health and mental thoughts about how I feel. I nearly broke the phone snatching it up so quick to place the order.

Days later I knew I had the right method, equipment and motivators to get me in shape. I don't mind telling you that the first couple of weeks...Kicked my butt! But you know what, I knew I was out of shape and I deserved what I got. But I wasn't stopping. Not pushing "Play", was not an option. I also found that if I do this before work each day, I set myself up to succeed. If I do it when I get home, I have mentally felt like not doing it because of being tired after the long day. Choosing to do the routine after work, for me, would have set me up to fail. I've pushed play, pushed play and pushed play. Eating right and charting my calories by using the P90X nutrition plan really melted away the fat. I think I have about 5 more lbs of fat to go. I have decided to eat 5 times a day. This has really kicked my metabolism into high gear. I get hungry before three hours are up, so I know my body is burning fuel, calories and the stores of fat around my gut. Although it's hard to see in the pictures, I have gained more muscle mass, trimmed down and my abs are starting to pop out. Hello old buddies!

My core strength has really increased as well. Back to the golf...In golf, one of the key sources of energy gets stored up when the body twists backward on the backswing of the club. Tremendous torque is built up, and then is released on the downswing. Guess what? My drives have started going further. There was the problem. Over the years I had lost my core strength. P90X is giving it back to me. The drives have gone another 30-40 yards further. Outstanding! P90X has also given me more strength in my legs, back and arms. WOW is all I have to say. Carl D....I'm shooting for a look like yours. When I started P90X I could only do 1 and 1/2 wide pull ups. I can do "16" now. How great is that? Well to me it's a lot and I only have to thank Tony Horton, Beach Body, Million Dollar Body Club and P90X......for X'ing me into shape!
