Main issue is that I need to lose the weight that I gained from the 6 months of inactivity.

So after the first week I dropped 5 pounds.
I am currently in week 4 of Insanity, and have been having some wierd health effects. I've noticed since starting that my sternum occasionally pops, and the middle of my chest feels tight and like there's dull pressure on it all the time. I also sometimes feel slightly nauseous about 1/2 hour to an hour after working out. But never during or immediately after the workout. I usually eat a protein shake 1 hr after the workout, and drink about 2-3 glasses of water during the workout.

I'm wondering if this could be due to the pushups in the workouts that could be causing some muscle fatigue or inflammation in my chest, or if in general I'm over-exerting myself and it's my body's way to say take it easy? I certainly don't want to take a break from the workouts, and am hoping this is easily explained. Any ideas? Is this normal? Please help!

First things first, if you want big muscles, you've got to eat like a freakin animal!!!! You're body cannot build muscle mass when you are creating a caloric defecit. Most bodybuilders and the like go through phases where they put on weight in order to increase their muscle mass, then lean out to reveal them. And understand that it is "NEARLY" impossible to put on muscle without some fat, hence the lean out phase.

It sounds to me like you're a hard gainer that was pretty stagnant prior to this. But if you're down to 157 at 5'11" you're on the verge of underweight, and if you're not seeing the definition you want, you need bigger muscles. Here's the super secret formula:

EAT MORE + LIFT HEAVIER = BIGGER MUSCLES

Good luck bro, if it makes you feel better, plenty of people have a similar problem. I'm 23 male, 5"11 and started p90x lean at 190 pounds then moved on to classic, I started month 2 at 157 pounds. Now I'm a lot stronger than I was before, lift a ton more, can actually do pull ups and pushups, can do plyo without any breaks unlike when I started...except...

There is very very little visual results :S like my arms got bigger, when I flex you can see the bicep and triceps, but like my shoulders have 0 definition unless I flex and it's barely there, my stomach shows no abs unless i flex, and even then only like the upper half shows. I know my abs are stronger because I can do full ab ripper X now and core synergistics has become easy.

The way I've been doing the workouts are 8-10 reps in the weight lifting for size/strength, my question is..

1) At 157 pounds, should I note be showing abs at 5"11 height :s when I am fit enough to do plyo x without breaks, cardio X/kenpo X has become a joke.
2) Do I need to go for 12-15 reps maybe?
3) Am I expecting results out of reach for 4 months? The results pictures/videos people have shown were a lot better.

Thanks for any help.

I'm "happy" with the results, just not happy that definition is very low.
Another thing great about yoga that texmd didn't really touch on is the mental aspect.
I'm not talkin' about the calmness of mind and mellowing out and all that stuff (even though I always feel phenomenal after yoga), I'm talking learning to get through something intense.
What I really love about yoga is how difficult it is, but how you can focus on it. When you do cardio or lift weights or whatever it's none stop doin' the movement goin' at it gettin' tired, and maybe you make it all the way through maybe you don't, but most people aren't thinkin' about how they did after, they're thinkin' about how tired they are, because the move was difficult.
Yoga on the other hand allows you to settle in and focus entirely on the pose, no moving around, no tired panting after, just breathing and focusing, and I think this is really one of the places you can learn to focus and push through. (Hopefully this is all making sense.)
And after enough yoga, you learn to start applying that focus and that breath to other exercises. You learn about the physical aspect AND the mental aspect behind the exercise, and that if you get your mind right on the mental part, the physical part will come.
I think Tony does a great job explaining it in fountain of youth when he talks about learning to chill, even in an uncomfortable position.
Well that's just one of my favorite things about yoga, learning to focus on the exercise and the form and pose instead of how tired or in pain you are, and maybe y'all agree or maybe you don't, but if you get your mind right and focus on doin' it right and digging deeper and stop telling yourself how hard it is and start telling yourself to push then you can truly bring your athletic performance to an entirely new level, and I think yoga is a great place to learn that.
Hopefully that all made sense.

I second what was said above.

Dehydration, can in fact lead to nausea and/or vomiting. This is because if you are dehydrated, your body can't produce adequate sweat to cool yourself down. When your body cannot cool itself, it over heats and nausea and vomiting are symptoms of heat exhaustion. Another early symptom is heat cramps in your muscles. You may have experienced this and attribute it to the workout, or not have cramps at all.

You may want to get your blood sugar level checked with your doctor. The orange juice could be helping because of the sugar in it.

It's good that you recognize this is abnormal. Your body is trying to tell you something, so please do not ignore it. I strongly urge you to speak to your doctor about this. No one can diagnose the problem from a message board. It could be caused by something only a doctor would find or know to look for, like an inner ear problem that gives you vertigo when rolling or jumping around.

Both P90x and Insanity do something called progressive overload, which is designed to really break you down -- and once you're broken down, you need as much time as possible to recover.
