Good morning! I am also planning to start SI6 on Monday and I saw your string started!! It will be nice to start with someone else. All the other SI6 strings seem really established.

ME!ME!ME! I want to! (jumps and waves hands in air) Can I join you, too? emoticon

I have done the SI6 workouts before but, honestly, never actually completed all 6 weeks. I not only fell off the wagon, I got run over by it!! I am determined to go the distance this time and see some real results. I was looking for some motivation, and maybe a thread to join so I am so excited to see a group starting at the same time!

Ladies,

I am delighted to have company. Tell me, how much are you looking to lose? I'd love to lose 40 lbs. and I didn't want to do this program by myself. It's better to have support and accountability. I have also resumed Weight Watchers. Can you please give me some background on yourselves? Goals for wt. loss, etc.? Thanks much, Taffi

I'm really glad to find your thread. I've rented to the Slim in 6 series to see if I like it before I buy and I'm looking for some people to help keep me motivated.

I don't have a particular amount of weight I want to lose, I just want to tone up and feel better. I was laid off from my job at the beginning of January, and I KNOW I'm an emotional eater, so I'm trying to stave off the creep of pounds and maybe even lose a few stubborn ones that have been hanging around too long.

I've never done Slim in 6 before, but I own an old (OLD! VHS!) version of Power 90. I never got all the way through 90 days of continuous exercise, but I did use it to shed some pounds. My weight loss history is that I lost 40 pounds in college, and I've kept most of it off for the last six years. But it's a struggle every day.

Anywho, I'd love to participate with you ladies. I'm new to the message boards, too, so any advice you have is appreciated.

Thanks!
~L

I'm just on Day 2 of RIU...just finished it. I'd love to join in too. I'm on a few boards and most of the people here are AWESOME and full of encouraging words and motivation.

I'm 33
2 kids-son 14 daughter 6
hubby...he's a BIG boy too
I've been doing my own workouts all Jan 09. Now it's time to kick it up a couple notches. I bought SI6 in 2007 but only got 3 1/2 weeks thru it.
I'm looking to lose 30-40 lbs at least. I'm 5'1" and 177lbs! It doesn't look so great on my little frame.
Keep up the good work!! emoticon

This is great! I'm wondering (as painful as it is) if we can all list our starting weight and measurements by tomorrow? This way we will know exactly how much progress we are making over time. Please feel free to share dieting tips, motivational tips, etc. I am looking forward to all of us making some very positive changes. Talk to you later. Taffi

I started SI6 this time last week. Sun Feb 1st-S,M,T,Th then started RIU Fri. I was working out all Jan with 1 day per week off or light cardio. So SIU was fairly easy.
I am not following an eating plan right now. I am do the dvd's and watching what I eat, but not strictly. I know I should, but I'm NOT a calorie counter.
I did RIU this am and it's still kicking my BUTTOCKS (and abs).
We took our DD to the pool so I also did 30 mins of laps and now am pooped!

Chest 40" Calf 17"
Hips 40.5" Bicep 15"
Waist 36" BMI=33.42 (ugh)
Thigh 27.5"

Chow for now!

Hey all!

I plan on starting Slim in 6 tomorrow and was wondering if I could join you guys! I've had Slim in 6 forever, and have done Start It Up many times, but could never move on to Ramp It Up. Well I am hoping this time I can complete the whole 6 weeks properly. I have about 50 lbs and a lot of body fat to lose! I will try to take before photos and measurements tomorrow--they won't be pretty though!

Good Luck everyone!

Hey Taffi, I just read that you are doing Weight Watchers. I have done it on and off over the years. I always saw results but never stuck to it for some reason. I think I might give it another go while I do Slim in 6. I know beachbody advocates doing high protein diets--I just can't do it!

Hi Ladies,

I am so glad to see we have quite a group together. YEA!! Myself, I am 39 (turn the big 4-0 in May & I don't want to be fat & out of shape). I have 3 beautiful children, two girls 10 & 5 and one boy 6. The last time I weighed (a few weeks ago), the evil scale said 197, then it said "GET OFF before I break!!" lol!!!I would like to lose 40-50 lbs. I'm really more about size and how I feel than weight but I think that's about how much it will take. I have been a size 10 as an adult and I look and feel good there. I have read posts on here that ladies say they are smaller than they ever thought possible, that would be so cool!! I am going to shoot for a 10 and if I think I can go further I would LOVE to be an 8. I would say 6 but that seems a bit impossible at this point. I am 5'7" and currently a size 16 or 18 in regular ladies or a 14W in women's.

I went shopping with my Mom today. We had fun but it definately motivated me to get started. I hate having to pick out the XL tops and jeans with a "W" in the size!!! The "muffin top" really takes the fun out of trying on clothes. I am carrying a lot of belly fat and I want it GONE. My 10yr old daughter said the funniest thing in the dressing room at Macy's....(she is used to me looking for a wide in shoes so she helps look for 7W) I tried on two pairs of jeans in a size 14W, the first pair was cute and looked pretty good (fit in waist, very little muffin, fit nice on rear end), the second pair was really expensive and didn't look good at all (waist was too high, bagged in crotch, too baggy in rear). She says, "Oh Mommy, those don't look good at all and they're the same size, they're both a 14 Wide." emoticon I bought the pair that looked good but I don't think I will ever be able to put them on without thinking 14 WIDE! Hopefully I won't be wearing them for long but that's okay, they were on sale and I really needed a pair of jeans.

Well girls, here's to not having to buy WIDE jeans anymore!!!!!!

So glad you're joining us, Angela. As a reminder, today, Sunday 2/8, please everyone try to post weight, measurements, and if possible, pictures. I think all of us feel reticient about posting this information, but look at it this way, if we were in great shape, we wouldn't necessarily need to be quite this meticulous in our recordkeeping/accountability. I'm not looking forward to finding out my exact measurements because it shows the degree to which I've allowed my habits to get out of control (and also says something about my degree of denial). Monday is a new day. Let's support each other in our quests for a thinner, shapelier, healthier self. If I can be of any help to anyone, please let me know. Talk to you soon. Taffi

Welcome all, I didn't mean to overlook anyone. My greatest hope is that at the end of the program, we can look and feel so much better. Some of us have had false starts before, I know that's been true of myself, and I am tired of this weight and feeling unattractive. Just want you to know that I appreciate you're joining this group. Can I just say that I am super excited about finding this thread. I have been trying to find a good time to start Slim in 6 again and I think that now is the perfect time. Plus I had lent them out to a friend and was waiting for her to return them emoticon. It is always fun to share the gift of fitness!! Well here is a little about me. My name is Tracy and I am a 32 year old mother of 4 beautiful children 2boys ages 11 and 4 and 2 girls ages 9 and 2. I work full time and my exercise habbit has become non existent. Last year I was doing great and had lost 27 pounds in about 5 months. I started with slim in 6 and then started doing Turbo Jam regularly. I was pretty good until we decided to buy a house and between the stress of wondering if we could afford it, wondering if we would really get it and finally all of the moving and madness I started eating like a pig. In case you haven't guessed I am a big time emotional eater emoticon. So I have now gained back 20 pounds of the 27 that I lost. I am looking to lose the 20 pounds that I lost last summer plus a little more. I am more worried about size than total pounds lost. I would like to be a size 6 and I know with the help from you ladies and a little will power I can do it. Here are my starting stats:

weight - 176
size - 10 /12 (depends on the brand)
chest - 43"
waist (smallest point) - 35.75"
lower stomach (mom pooch) - 40.75"
hips - 43.25"
left thigh - 24.25
right thight - 24.25
left arm - 13"
right arm - 13"

Not the greatest, but it could be worse. Here is another little bit of motivation for you ladies the last time I started Slim in 6 I was 183 pounds and within a week and a half I had lost 1.5" in my waist and could fit in to a pair of jeans that I had outgrown for quite a while emoticon. I know that we can do this. If you fallow the program it will work. I am going to be taking pictures tonight. That is the one mistake that I made last time I didn't take day 1 photos. I wish I had maybe I wouldn't have let myself gain most of this weight back.

Oh, yeah since I am still in pretty good shape I am going to skip the start it up days and do 2 full weeks of Ramp it Up followed by 4 weeks of Burn it Up. I wish you ladies all the luck in the world and tomorrow we change our lives for the better!!! Let's do this! We are way stronger than any of us realize. Don't ever give up we are worth it.

Love and Blessings to all,
Tracy

As you can see by the time of this post, I delayed the horrific task of taking my measurements until the very last moment. Somebody shoot me, what a wakeup call this was:

Chest 39"! - No wonder my breasts are falling out of my size 36 bra!
Waist 35" - Shoot out my kneecaps!
Hips 42" - Cut my carotid artery!
Arms 12.75" I'm giving the Pillsbury Doughboy a run for his money!
Thighs 23.5" Sh-t! Sh-t! Sh-t!

My weight is 156; ht. 5' 5 1/2"
I'll meet everyone back here later in the day with a report. I was going to wish everyone "Good Luck," but it's not about luck, it's about hard work and perserverance.
