What two rounds of p90x has done for me
Hi I am a two time p90x grad, just started my third round and am very happy with the results thus far. Granted I had to work hard at it, but the program does work. I just wanted to share some results and my gratitude for the program. I am 6'3" and started at 215 lbs. I am currently 180 lbs and at 11%bf. Four weeks ago I finally cut out drinking and added running to my workouts 4-5x a week. My goals for this round are to shed more fat, put on 4-8lbs of lean muscle, and get more definition in my stomach. Kpp and get after it

Congrats on your hard work it looks like it really paid off. You should be very proud of what you have accomplished. Just for the record, what was you BF before you started round 1?

When I started bf was probably around 23-25%. Two months before that it was around 30%

What type of diet were you following and how long before you started to see results? Great work again!

I followed the theme of the nutrition guide but not to the letter. In the beginning I ate low carb but as the phases went on I upped the carbs. Second round I ate more balanced. As far as diet I was pretty strict. Egg whites, whole wheat bread, brown rice, fruits and vegetables, chicken breast, fish, etc. I may have ate out three times in the 180 days. For round three I am doing a totally different diet based on low carbs, but it has nothing to do with p90x so we'll see how it goes.

I saw gradual weight loss throughout the program and visible results were probably visible within 4-6 weeks with strength gains being noticed within the first phase.

Thanks, were you over or under on your calorie intake from the guide book or did you not track it? I am finishing round 1 and over the last couple of days I have been getting hungrier. I am in the 2200 calorie range and trying to loose BF while gaining muscle.

I'll be honest I definitely did some things wrong. I didnt track the calories as exact as I should have. I just tried to eat very healthy, smaller portions, and often. I also drank about once a week till about five weeks ago which is obviously not ideal. I still lost weight consistently with the drinking, but who know what couldve happened without it. I have cut out the drinking and am on a pretty strict diet that aims to put on muscle while cutting fat. It has nothing to do with beachbody so I cant post the info, maybe drop me a message and you can check it out. It is definitely not for everyone, and is a little extreme, but I am giving it a shot. I am only on my second week of the diet so I can let you know once I get a little more time with it.

Thanks, so far I am dropping about a pound a week including an allowance for 2-3 glasses of wine. I have cut out beer all together. I am going to stick with the phase 2 nutrition and add a shake in the evenings to brng me into the 2300 calorie range. I would like to see your sample meal plan. Right now I am entering phase 2 and it sounds like this is where the real gains start. Based on the results over the next 30 days I will have to see if I need to make any adjustments against the standard plan. Thanks again - Scott
