Hello from Canada! Started the P90X program on Nov 19 2009
Showing 13 results.
HI,

I'm a 37 year old father of 2 looking to get back in shape to be on this earth as long as possible for his family...

I use to be the provincial Judo champion and trained with Team Canada. Being a sales rep and often on the road had me stopping at the drive thru often. I have gained some 35 extra pounds. This is it, I'm going for the 90 days challenge! I'm pretty stuborn so sticking to the program should be achievable. I'm starting tonight!

I will let you updated of the progress!!!

Cheers,

Glen

Hey up you dare in Canadaland.

You have identified a large part of your journey. Eliminate all fast food. Then eliminate as much processed food as you can. Eat clean.
Do that and the workouts and you'll be tossing some of your old boys around like you're king o the dojo.

Hey Glen,

I am here in Montreal. Good luck with your P90X. I am sure your prior discipline with Judo, will help a long ways towards completion of P90X and attaining your goals.

You are lucky, you still look in pretty decent shape....you did not wait too long...your road back will not be too tough....

I've never been into exercising. Did TKD in late teens and was in best shape of my life then.... Went back 3 yrs ago (age 46) and it was helping me stay toned and in good cardio shape.... but have just ripped ligaments in my good knee - hurt the 1st one last year this time (TKD and hockey)....

My weight started creeping up, and my wardrobe (that actually fits) started getting pretty limited...had to start getting pants with larger waist....

I've found a piece of exercise equipment which I actually like (for a change) - TRX.... You might want to check it out...maybe incorporating or alternating with P90X, to mix it up.... It's all core - all the time. .... best feature is it's portability - can use it ANYWHERE....and don't need a DVD player, once you learn a bunch of exercises....

I have not yet got up the guts to try P90X - just visiting site for the 1st time...trying to work up the nerve. I doubt I will follow it to the T...but rather just mixing it in for variety with my TRX sessions....

Anyhow, good luck on your journey !

warren

PS... National team - you know Sensei Nakamura here in Mtl ?

Hey Glen,

I started on the same day. I hope you get some great results. Sounds like your head is in the right place for this. I'm doing great so far (aside from soreness) and will check back in here for accountability. Keep us posted.

Hi Warren,

Sensei Nakamura, his name sound familiar. I did the Team Canada training in Montreal ( I'm in NB ). TDK is for sure a great sport! I also did som Jiu-Jitsu for a bour 3 years and went to the US at a seminar to train with Chuck Norris. Man that guy is in shape.

I have a Bowflex at home and incorporating some arm and shoulder exercises with it. The P90X is great! I intend to follow it to the T.

I have check out the TRX equipment and it looks pretty effective!

If you decide to start the P90X program let me know.

Cheers,

Glen

Hey Matt,

This is great, we started the same day! I'm sure pumped to stick to the program and push my limits!

I hear you about the soreness LOL! The stretching at the begining is helping a bit. I would like to follow your progress so that we can encourage each other in this first stretch of healthy hell lol!

Goodluck,

Glen

Good morning!

Checking in:

Started week 2 today. Chest, back and ab ripperx. Did slightly more reps than I did last week but no pauses this time and I actually felt good after. Last week I felt like I was going to die...seriously. Body weight is the same but the wife says my waistline is noticeably smaller. Diet is good and going strong but I know I will cheat today for Thanksgiving dinner.

Hi Matt,

Everything is going great! I hear you when you felt like you where going to die LOL! I have sticked to my diet and I find that it is very easy to prepare. Today is my day 6 into P90X, and it's the only day that I don't feel the burn in my muscles all day! Even after 6 days in, I have lost 6 pounds and feel great. I can notice the toning of the muscles. No snacking at night, I'm full!

Don't juge your progress on your weight. The muscles ( Heavier ) are starting to grow and the fat ( lighter ) is melting away.

Have a great Thanksgiving, go crazy on the turkey but control the rest LOL!

Hi Rozlyn,

Thanks for the encouragement! BC should be a incentive by itself to stay healthy. This place is so beautiful!

Keep going at it until you master it! Like any habits it take 21 days to get use to it!

Cheers,

Glen

Hi Glen,
I just want to wish you luck on your P90X journey. You will be amazed at the difference in only 30 days and that will keep you motivated through the next 60 days. Diet is the key factor on getting lean and cut so that you get the most out of your hard work. You are definitely on the right track. I used to travel for my job and I know what you mean about eating on the road. The other problem was that when I was not working, I was laying around the hotel watching television. I am a 52 year old father of four grown children. My sons saw my P90X pics the other day and accused me of photo shopping my head on someone elses body. LOL! I just took off my shirt and showed them. My younger son is starting P90x soon. He was amazed. I am in my tenth week of round 2 and plan to do Insanity next. Best of luck to you and keep pressing play!
