I’m Jeremy Branson, I’m a husband and dad. I’ve been married to Christina for 17 years and have 3 wonderful boys. We are a family who trusts in God and more than willing to discuss our faith and the importance of having God first in our lives. I turned 36 in December of 2008, and after being married for 16 years, I looked back and realized that I had killed many years through not exercising and taking care of my body. I was very athletic growing up, but had really let myself go. I began to think, “I’m 6’ 2” and 230 lbs….I’m a big man.” (Not the “BIG” I really was.) Over the last year I decided to try a simple “No Sugars” diet, which worked well to drop some weight, but – I was still out of shape! And honestly, I hated to exercise. I didn’t want to go to the gym and always found reasons not to do anything. Everything from Work, Church, Kids, House, etc….All poor excuses.
One day in November ’08, my wife Christina borrowed “CardioX” from a friend who told her if she could get through that then she should consider P90X. Well as she did CardioX, I watched. Wow…that thing was intense. Of course, I made jokes like, “That was the hardest thing I’ve ever watched! Then, Christina asked for P90X for Christmas ’08…Once she did, I knew she was serious, so I started to research. This program was impressive. 90 Days working out at home, with only a small investment in equipment that we both could share. And a Nutrition Guide tailored to the program! Right then, I decided, “I’m in!” I made the decision that I could put forth the 90 Days and with still a little skepticism, would make the program prove itself. I bought it….not for Christina for Christmas from Me (take note husbands!)…but a present from our 3 boys to Mommy and Daddy! It was time to take care of myself and make a Lifestyle Change!!!
On, January 3, 2009, Christina and I began, what became a huge bonding experience for both of us. We hit P90X hard and haven’t looked back. With all of the same excuses looming over the both of us we have pushed through….never missing a workout and following the Nutrition Guide to a tee. This program is great! I’m still working, Christina is still a fulltime mom, we still prepare and lead a Bible Study at our home every week, we still have our Kids to run to every sports thing going on, we still have the “to do’s” around the house but we decided to make this happen. The results are phenomenal and only have me wanting more. I made P90X prove itself and it has!
This was truly a life change that was needed, for my wife, my kids and myself. Our body is a temple and although death is a guarantee, I want to prolong that for the sake of my family. Philippians 2:12-13 says if we “work out” then God will “work in”! So if we treat our bodies like the temple that they are and with respect then we will be blessed. Awesome.
