Like many others I’ve struggled with my weight. I’ve always been active, but sometimes I would let work and family commitments take priority over my health. About a year ago, working full time while More...
Like many others I’ve struggled with my weight. I’ve always been active, but sometimes I would let work and family commitments take priority over my health. About a year ago, working full time while finishing my MBA took a toll on my waist line. I went from working out everyday to not at all. I went from preparing home-cooked meals to a diet of pizza and fast food. I always had an excuse for why I couldn’t workout or eat a decent meal, and promised that ‘as soon as I’m done with (fill in the blank), I’ll go back to being healthy’. Something always came up, and my back-to-health start up date was continually pushed back. I was in denial. I fed myself the typical lines. “There’s always tomorrow…well, at least I’m happy…everyone gains weight when they get older.”
After graduation I took on a new position that required weekly overnight travel. I continued to pack on the pounds adapting even worse habits. One night I saw an infomercial for P90X. That was it for me. Well into double-digit clothes and creeping into the ‘overweight’ category, I was ready for a change. I was ready to take back control of my life. I decided to make the commitment to make my health top priority. After all, there might not be a tomorrow, just because you’re older doesn’t mean you have to gain weight, and I WAS NOT HAPPY.
Within two weeks of seeing the infomercial I was bringing it everyday with Tony Horton and the P90X crew. I was amazed how quickly I gained strength and saw results. Now upon completion of only one round of P90X, I am happy and healthy. I feel great, I’m confident, and have more energy than I’ve ever had in my life. I love my new lease on life, and want to share my experience with as many people as possible. It’s never too late to get a beach body!
