This year isn't half over but it has been one of the toughest years for many including me and my family. So many things have happened already and they continue to happen.
Recently my husband got laid off. We also got into a car accident (2 days before we had to give the car back because it is a company car and my husband no longer works there). Then we get home that same day and the kid across the street blew out our living room window playing baseball. Today we are meeting with the realtor to start a short sale on our house. We tried to do everything to stay here but it just didn't work out that way.
My husband got irritated with me when I excitedly said "Wow! We must be boring people because this has been one of the most exciting weeks we've ever had!" He said he would rather have boring that this kind of excitement.
But my point is, nobody got hurt and we still have our health so why be all depressed about it?? Maybe it is because I'm taking better care of my health - when things are tough I have decided to eat healthier than ever and do more exercise. It helps ward off the stress. My husband seeks comfort food and exercises less saying something like "I'm too stressed to exercise right now". It's no wonder he doesn't sleep well.
My point to this message? I know many of you are going through tough times too. I urge you to focus on your health instead of dwelling on things that you have no control over. Remember to exercise and eat healthy especially during tough times. Trust me, it will help keep your spirits up and lower your stress level. Stress will always be there in one form or another... you may not have control of your surrounding situations but you do have control of what you do with your body. Give yourself a chance at feeling better making your health a priority. Then you can calmly deal with the stresses surrounding you as best you can.
Nope, this message is not about the Beachbody business. It's about you, your health and how you handle stress. My business may take a step back or slow down a bit but it will always be there. Today I am focusing on my health and making sure my friends get the message that there is nothing more important than taking care of yourself. Yes, I consider you all my friends. Please take care of yourselves.
