I started P90 in August 2005 after making a decision to be in the best shape of my life when I turned 40. Like most stories here, my exposure to Beachbody began late one night watching the P90 infomercial. To be honest, it just struck a chord with me in that it made no promises outside of what eating right and working hard can provide - and that just made sense to me.

I knew I had to get my eating habits under control if I wanted any measure of long-term success. I decided to lose a few pounds using the nutrition plan in P90 before I actually started the program. I started at a weight of 210lbs (the most I had ever weighed in my life) and when I began the program on August, 1 I weighed 178lbs!

At that point I was really motivated to not only lose weight but to become physically fit. About half way through P90, I came across the P90X program and I was blown away by it. I could not wait to finish P90 and begin P90X. I did finish P90 and rolled right into P90X. The photos posted to the left show my Day 1 P90 and Day 90 P90 results. I was excited about the changes I saw!

P90X carried me up to my 40th birthday and I can say for certain that I had reached my goal of being in the best shape of my life! Since then (January 2006) I have pretty much continued back-to-back cycles of P90X with a little variation to mix things up a little. I have also mixed in biking and running. For one period, I was running 13 miles twice a week with two shorter 6-8 mile runs. As far as weight goes, I actually hit my high school weight of 155lbs! But to be honest, that was probably a little too thin. I have maintained 170-75lbs with about 10-12% body fat for a while now. All in all, I went from 210lbs to 155lbs - 55lbs lost!

Where am I today? I am in deep puddles of sweat working the new Insanity program and enjoying every minute of it. I still try to work in a couple of the P90X strength training routines each week. Each rotation of a Beachbody program ends with a new level of fitness. Thanks Beachbody!!
