I'm Selena and I'm from VA Beach. I am a 2nd degree black belt in taekwondo.
Doing P90X to cut some pounds and inches off my body. I compete a lot in
taekwondo as well so I am doing P90X to help me with that.

I have always been athletic. I started out playing fastpitch softball when I was
7 years old. I played all the way up through college years. I played on
traveling teams as well playing

And then I found P90X. I had always seen the infomercials on tv and thought,
wow that is a killer workout. And I was inspired by the people on the
infomercials. But with anything I wanted More...

infomercials. But with anything I wanted to talk to people ho have actually
done it. And I did, people that I know personally. And I saw a change. And I
knew there was something special about this program. But then I thought,
me, out of shape, would I be able to handle this one? I took the plunge. I
ordered the DVD's, the pull up bar, got my workout equipment and got to it. I
had been putting it off and putting it off and finally I started it. And I knew
that if I didn't sign up online this workout wasn't going to go well. I had
talked to my TKD instructor because he is doing the program as well. And he
really inspired me to get connected with people online who are doing it and
also to do the WOWY to make sure that I was doing the workouts. He is a
person who really holds me accountable for things. And I can't lie to him. And
he doesn't hold anything back. He always tells me like it is.

When I did my body measurements I had a slight breakdown. I was so mad
and disappointed with myself. How could I have let myself get to this point?
So after a good cry, I sucked it up and told myself that I would never be like
that again. I even hesitate putting up this photo because of the way I look. I
didn't used to be like this. And I can sit here and blame it on having children,
but I have seen people who had had more children than me and they have
been able to keep their body in check. So I don't like using the "having
children" as my excuse. But this is another way to hold myself accountable. I
am not happy with the way I look, but this will never be me again because of
P90X!

So I am doing the diet, I got the recovery drink (YUMMY!) and I am doing this
for real. I have World Championships coming up in June 09 so I am really
trying to get ready for that. I am in Top Ten for my age and rank and will
have the opportunity to compete for the title of World Champion. It is
something that I want so bad and I am willing to do whatever it takes to be
able to have a shot.

I am really looking forward everyday to working out with Tony Horton and
also everyone here online. I cannot wait to see what I look like in 90 days!
