I've always considered fitness and nutrition important, just not always a high “priority”. In the past, my workout schedule commitment was sporadic. I'd do well for a couple of months, and then my motivation would drop, usually with my focus changing due to an old back injury flaring up, family focus, job related, or volunteer work with a non-profit.

In May 2008, I ended up in the hospital for four days. I'd been on various medications for intestinal challenges, acid reflux, and my blood pressure readings were ranging in the "red zone" hypertensive, among other things. My weight had ballooned, and I had been fighting depression.

My husband and I started P90X June 1st, and to be honest, it was really hard. While I loved the routines, I would still miss workouts occasionally. I liked that I could modify the moves to suit my level, and I tried my best to stick with it. I also liked how I was feeling about myself. Overall, I struggled to commit to the nutrition plan. I need variety in my diet. But, at day 90, I couldn't believe the results of myself. My before and after photos were motivation for me to really stay focused for round 2, and I’m happy to say, I’m really “bringing it” with the nutrition plan this round too.
My blood pressure has lowered, I have no more back pain, and I feel awesome. Not to mention all my clothes are so loose now, and I have CAPS. I’m looking forward to really finishing this round of P90X building my strength and endurance.
