From the end of second grade on, I was fighting childhood obesity. I had a rough time in P.E. and never did exercise on my own. Children also have a tendency to be quite cruel when you're cursed with a mix of poverty and obesity.

Things became easier in high school, however, the weight was still piling on thanks to the horrendous amount of soda I could and would consume. I caught a lucky

With the start of the biggest loser contest I saw a chance at winning some money and went for it. I was hoping for more than just money and some weight loss. I wanted to defeat gynechomastia and gain self-esteem/self-confidence.

I started out the biggest loser contest with a low-carb diet. I found out 6 weeks later, after struggling to lift a box of MRI films, that I was shredding off much needed muscle. Unhappy with this I turned to other contestants, and coworkers for advice. This is where fitness programs enter my life.

After talking to a coworker who suggested a program that worked for a relative of hers, I completed a 12 week course (more like haphazardly went about) while infomercials of hip hop abs catching my eye. I was desperately seeking a cardio workout I could do with a DVD. So I looked into HHA, to find that it was a part of beachbody and was associated with P90X, a program a friend of mine told me was the ultimate fitness program.

I had attempted a P90X workout with him one day (Plyo) and couldn't make it through the warm-up. He suggested I do power 90 to get myself ready for the X. (One of the greatest bits of advice I have ever received.) I started Power 90 as soon as I got it, and it helped me overcome a plateau I was currently facing and netted me the win in the biggest loser contest at work. A whopping 48.5 lbs lost, 20% of my weight gone, was my final weigh-in.

I went on with Power 90, but never finished it thanks to injuries and surgery on my neck. After recovery from spraining both wrists, I started to get really good at the Power 90 workouts and asked if I should get the X since I had successfully completed X Stretch one day with that friend, and Shoulders and Arms later on. Michelle (Seachelle) convinced me to buy P90X. (I can't thank her enough for this one.)

P90X arrives along with a chin-up bar, some more resistance bands, and the ultimate post workout recovery drink. I got back into wowy, and completed a round of P90X with stellar results. I went from fitting somewhat uncomfortably into a large t-shirt, to fitting very comfortably in a medium one. P90X defeated my case of gynechomastia. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I'm still striving for the look of a spartan, and I desire more strength and endurance. I also desire more muscle mass. I'm now using ChaLEAN Extreme to reach this goal.

Thank you so much TBB for choosing me to be the winner of my age category for the month of March! It means so much to me! I will continue to work hard to ensure myself of being a grand prize winner at the end of the year!
