GENEVA, IL My Story As a young adult I worked out quite a bit. After I became a mom getting to the gym became much more difficult. Between family and career I didn’t make the time to workout and ended up gaining about 25 unwanted pounds.
About 6 years ago I started working out regularly at home. Two years ago I discovered Turbo Jam and then P90X. About 6 years ago I started working out regularly at home. Two years ago I discovered Turbo Jam and then P90X. I was blown away by HOW MUCH FUN working out at home became. I love the variety the MDB workouts offer.
Although I was committed to working out consistently, I was not eating well. I had become pretty fit but it wasn’t apparent because I was carrying too much “padding” to reveal my hard-earned muscles!
In the spring of ’07 I finally got plugged in to the MDB Message Boards. It was the final piece in the puzzle! The support and information I found online gave me the tools I needed to get in the best shape of my life. I began eating clean and I became accountable to a group of friends on the boards who are unbelievably kind and supportive.
I’m here to tell you; it worked for me, I KNOW it will work for you, too!

In mid-March 2007 I was ready for a change. I was recovering from a bilateral prophylactic mastectomy and had been unable to exercise for several months. Kind friends and neighbors had kept our kitchen filled with “goodies” to speed my recovery.
Those goodies sped my recovery, but they spread my waistline, too! I decided to use the time I would have spent exercising to go on the MDB Message Boards to choose a new workout!
I found a great group of people on the boards. My new friends on the boards kept me motivated to work out (they were waiting for me in WOWY!) and they inspired me to eat right. I owe them huge thanks, especially my coach, Jodi (TBTA). She is always there when I need advice, encouragement or a swift kick!
While participating in an online chat I got some great advice from Tony Horton. He challenged us to eat nothing but fruits and vegetables for 2 days. I accepted his challenge and was amazed at how great I felt at the end of those 2 days. This made me a real believer in clean eating and I have to say it's changed my life. I've been able to maintain my 14 lb. weight loss for nearly two years thanks to the advice I got from Tony to eat clean.
Of course the workouts really help, too! I'm a huge fan of P90X. I've been doing it since Aug '07. I add in P90X+, One on Ones and some Turbo Jam for some good variety.
