In 2006, I started having issues where I was constantly tired. I went to the Dr. and they ran all of these tests on me. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. The test revealed, I was waking up 40 times an hour because I would stop breathing in my sleep. My weight had gone over 217lbs and I had to now sleep with a machine putting air into my nose so that I would continue to breath in my sleep. The machine helped me but I felt embarrassed to take that machine every time I had to travel for business or pleasure. The Dr. told me I needed to consider going on blood pressure medicine. I was not fitting in to my size 38" pants. I graduated from college wearing size 30.

I learned about P90X through an infomercial and I was the perfect person to see it... I had hit rock bottom in my personal view of myself and from a total health standpoint. I new my wife thought I was going to die in the next 10 years because of the direction I was heading. I have a two year old... I couldn't let that happen.

I ordered, I got plugged in and I went to work. That meant no eating improper on client dinners, conferences, and mailing my stuff to my hotels in advance so I could eat proper and take my supplements.

The last three months have been life changing. I have lost over 36 lbs. I have lost 9 inches off my waist. I have the energy like I did when I was in my 20's. At this point, I am happy to say I do not have to sleep with my cpap machine anymore. To be able to sleep next to my wife with out a mask and hose hooked to my face means more to me than I can express. My goal is to get to single digit body fat percentage. I am not done... I still have work to do. This is a change I am committed to for life.

The idea of running was something I thought only crazy people did or people who wanted to get away from cops... ha ha. What I have learned through the inspiration of people like Scott Rupp is that the heathier you get the more you will challenge yourself and do things that you have never wanted to do (health-wise). Recently I ran 3.1 miles. Why? Easy answer, because I could. I used to get winded running 30 feet to get to my car from the local food joint when it was raining outside.

I want to thank the people who commit daily to inspiring me on the TeamBeachBody P90X thread, my coach Scott Rupp, and my wife who showed me the way from a fitness stand point. She did P90X with me so I would have someone to do it with. I am so blessed for that.
