In 1991 I had Hodgkin's Lymphoma. After eight months of chemotherapy and 30 lbs. of added weight, I didn't think I would ever get back to feeling like myself. It took three years to start feeling like myself again. The chemo is the reason for the big age gap of the first and second. People My wife and I have been married for 21 years and we have three great kids (girl 20, boy 4, girl 3) together. In 1991 I had Hodgkin's Lymphoma. After eight months of chemotherapy and 30 lbs. of added weight, I didn't think I would ever get back to feeling like myself. It took three years to start feeling like myself again. The chemo is the reason for the big age gap of the first and second. People always ask me if I am on wife number two. We always wanted three children and we thought that it was never going to happen. So when we learned that my wife was pregnant with number two, we were stunned. Needless to say, getting pregnant the third time was fast in comparison. Like so many others I have been up and down in weight my entire life, but this time I am going to say goodbye to the "fat man" for good. I have been in pretty good shape in the past and I never really struggled to lose weight, but I always struggled to keep it off. I would lose interest and start drinking too much beer and eating too much. Life was good. I can't even count how many times I have gone down and then back up again. One thing for sure, I was never RIPPED. I have never had a six-pack and this is finally the time to do it. I want to see my two youngest grow up and I want to be able to play with all of my grandchildren some day. I have to do it this time because I feel at the age of 46 there won't be a next time or an I'll do it later. With all the support from BEACHBODY and my own determination to succeed I must do it. After all, I made it through all the struggles fighting cancer. Believe me, there were days that SUCKED. I am currently employed part-time with Sears. I have had two long-term jobs and three short-term jobs over the last 20 years. When I graduated from HS I weighed 205 lbs. I have been up and down in weight over the past 29 years. My low was 188 in 1981 during military service to a maximum of 311 in 1996 when I played semi-pro football. I have probably been overweight or obese most of those years. Throughout my life I have tried to gain weight more often than I have tried to lose weight. When I started a home delivery service job in September 2006, I weighed in at about 290 lbs. When I quit this job on July 13, 2007, I had lost a little more than 20 lbs. This is where I am starting this program. I knew nothing about Beachbody. I had seen infomercials on P90X, Turbo Jam, and more recently Hip Hop Abs. I chose Hip Hop Abs to start with because I hate doing situps and it looked like a fun program that would keep me interested. My Progress My Fitness Goal: Lose Weight Transformation Story

My starting weight on 7/22/07 was 258 lbs. I started with HHA and lost 43 lbs in 90 days. WOW! Ninety days with BEACHBODY. I have never stuck with a diet or exercise program for this long before and I'm not ever going to stop. I can’t even remember the last time I was at this weight. It seems like a long time ago. I did all this on five days on a Nordic Trac and the rest I owe to Shaun T. On 10/29/07 I started P90X. 11/27/07 Phase I is complete. I gained 5 pounds and an inch on my chest and 1.5 inches on each leg. I made it through the first 30 days. Wow! That is an amazing workout. I'm disappointed in the weight gain. However, I gained inches in good places. 12/27/07 Phase II is complete. Well, I gained 1 more pound and a total of 5 inches so far. I know that I am gaining muscle however I am not getting ripped like I want to. This is very frustrating, but I am getting stronger and better with all the workouts. I really need to concentrate on the diet. I think that is where I am not doing my best. Round 1 of P90X complete. I don't have the six-pack yet, but I am very satisfied with my results. I have gained inches in the right places and lost some in the bad places. Round 2 begins Feb 4, 2008. My diet still isn't perfect but for some reason I can't get back on track. I am definitely a lot stronger this round. 3/24/08 I restarted round 2. Winter and being sick zapped the energy out of me. I did not complete the second round. My shoulders didn't feel right and I took the rest of the year off and gained 35 lbs. Too much food and too much beer. 1/5/09 Starting over at 265 lbs. YUCK! 6/12/09 Working my body into shape for INSANITY. New pics on day 1 and again at 60 days. I can't wait.
