My name is Laura and I'm 29 years old. I have been married for 5 years and have a 1 year old son. Until I turned 22 and had to get a "real job" I was a competitive swimmer since I was 10, swim instructor for 5 years, and competitve coach for the 10 and under groups for 2 years. Fitness and I are old friends that I some how forgot. It's the same story so many of us have. I grew up and moved My name is Laura and I'm 29 years old. Fitness and I are old friends that I some how forgot. It's the same story so many of us have. I grew up and moved out, got married, got promoted to manager at an ungreatful job I don't like and became a slave to responsibilty. I FORGOT about me! I took my health for granted. As a result I let my body go. I claimed I didn't have the time for me. The breaking point was when I stepped on the scale and it read 212 pounds and over 40% body fat. Needless to say there aren't any pictures there because I was so depressed and miserable. To add insult to injury, while I was pregnant I discovered I am hypothyroid. So getting back the fit body I dream of is going to be an uphill battle. During an emotional breakdown my husband told me, "I am embarrassed to be seen in public with you." Don't hate him, I needed to hear it. It made me angry and determined. So I made a plan and started pushing play. Thank god I found Beachbody. With the help of the programs here I have rekindled my friendship with myself and am on the right track to feeling good in my own body. I have become an Independent Team Beachbody Coach so that I can share my passion with all those willing to listen. I'm not an expert. But there are plenty around the message boards. I have started a curriculum to receive my bachlor's in Excerise Science and Health Promotion.
Why did I become a Coach? I want to help others realize their fitness dreams and feel their best. Changing your life is hard...I'm doing it as we speak! I want to help people stick to their goals as well as be held accountable on my own fitness goals by all those that join me and the Beachbody community on our fitness journey. Before discovering my thryoid problem I ate what I believed to be healthy...in retrospect carbs, sugar, and meat and worked out 6 days a week for 1 hour for 7 months and DID NOT LOSE A POUND!! I became a Beachbody Club memeber and followed the 1400 low-carb diet plan provided for me. My plan of attack; slim in 6. I'll be honest, I was not faithful to the end. My son's first birthday came and so did all the family and I missed a total of 4 workouts during the whole 6 weeks. But I STILL lost 10 pounds, 6 inches, 1% body fat, and can fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes!! All in just 6 weeks! That's it, I'm a believer! The programs with the proper diet work.

Slim in 6 started 3-24-2009. Before: Chest 41" Waist 44" Hips 43" Weight 176 38% body fat 3 weeks:Chest 40" Waist 39" Hips 43" Weight 169.5 [-6" & 6.5 lbs.] 6 weeks:Chest 38" Waist 38.5" Hips 41" Weight 163 36% body fat I lost a total of 10.5 inches, 13 pounds and 2% body fat IN SIX WEEKS!!!
