At 41 years old and a mother of three, I was the typical fulltime working mother trying to make ends meat who was always taking care of everyone else except for myself. I’ve always had an excuse not to work out because I always have something more important to do. One day I realized that I had to do something for myself because I just couldn’t keep up with my life anymore. When I found Beachbody and became a coach, it gave me an opportunity to do something for myself. I realized that I had to practice what I was preaching and decided to help myself as much as I was helping others. I also realized how out of shape I was and how I didn’t like being called a “Tic-Tac” by my husband anymore. Taking photos of yourself is a real eye-opener; I saw why my husband called me a “Tic-Tac”, because I actually looked like one! I had no waist anymore and I was just straight up and down and looked like a ball of dough. I don’t think I had stepped on a scale for quite sometime before starting my workouts. When I took photos of myself I thought, “What are you doing, why are you allowing yourself to look like this?”. I knew I had no energy and I knew I had larger size clothes, but I just ignored it. Finally, one day I decided to put in my P90 program and that’s where my journey began. I’m only 5’2” and I was up to 140 pounds, that’s a lot of weight for a little person like me. I had never really been out of shape my whole life, but when you let things go I guess that’s what happens. Beachbody has really helped me turned my life around. If they didn’t have all the tools for me to use, like being able to order my supplements and being able to talk to my friends from the Beachbody threads or just through emails I don’t know if I could have done it. My husband is my coach and it is kind of hard to cheat when you live with your coach, but that also gave me the encouragement to do it. I had started working out and I was doing really well and then one day, I tripped over my dog in the middle of night and I literally broke my foot in half. Well that started a long journey for me in healing time, almost a whole year. I was so upset because my doctor kept telling me that I couldn’t do any kind of physical activity and I thought I was never going to take all the weight off. I had to have my first surgery on my foot where they put pins in it to hold it together. Seven months later my doctor told me I had to have another foot surgery to remove the pins she had put in due to the fact that they were actually pushing themselves out. I had the surgery. Well, since I couldn’t actually stand on my foot, this is the time I worked on my nutrition and took my supplements. I did sneak in a few sessions here and there with Yoga Booty Ballet since I was able to sit down to do it. When my doctor gave me the okay to work out I started pushing play again and I pushed myself hard, I was able to lose 25 pounds in 45 days on P90. I felt great, I was full of energy and I was running around like a kid again, buying new clothes and feeling great. My kids have a 41 year old mom, but with the body and energy of a 20 year old. I had also started doing P90X. I have maintained my weight by supporting my workouts with proper nutrition and supplements. I also gained some muscle to compliment my figure. My weight is at 110 pounds and I feel great and am full of energy. I demonstrate a healthy lifestyle to my children by being able to workout at home with my Beachbody workouts. I can’t wait to push play everyday to continue to better my life and those around me!
