My name is Craig Wood and I am an Independent Coach for Team Beachbody. 18 years ago I married my high school sweetheart, Melissa (you can see her at www.coachmelissawood.com). In that time we’ve had three children and I’ve pursued my two life dreams. The first 8 years I was a pastor and spent my time coaching and encouraging people to grow in their relationship with God. In that time we’ve had three children and I’ve pursued my two life dreams. The first 8 years I was a pastor and spent my time coaching and encouraging people to grow in their relationship with God. The last 10 years I have been self-employed with a successful technology company. During all of these years I have been committed to fitness as a way of life. I developed this discipline while playing high school and college football. About 2 years ago as I entered my late 30’s I realized that my fitness efforts weren’t paying off the way I had hoped! I could lift a lot in the weight room but my energy was low, my flexibility was terrible and I got pretty winded running up and down the court. In January 2008 my wife ordered a video workout series called P90X featuring trainer Tony Horton. We set up a small area in our clogged garage to do the workouts. Oh man! The first workout was killer. Even though I had lifted weights for years, my body wasn’t used to this kind of training! In just one week I began to see and feel transformation. I quickly learned about supplements to help my body recover from the intense change I was going through. Recovery drinks, whey protein and vitamins were first on the list. So here I am one year later and in the best shape of my life. My energy is back and my body is treating me right!

As I mentioned in my bio above, I had reached a point in my late 30’s where my energy was low, my flexibility was terrible and I got winded way too easy! I remember thinking to myself that I felt like someone had pulled my testosterone plug out. My friends laughed and said I was in denial about getting older and that I should just accept it. Even worse, my doctor said the same thing. True or not, I wasn’t going to go down without a fight! The P90X videos changed my whole perception of home fitness. I had no idea you could get such an intense workout with a top-notch trainer just by pushing play. And that’s exactly what my wife and I did in January 2008 and still continue to do. We love to mix it up with some ChaLEAN Extreme workouts. Along the way I’ve researched and discovered the value of eating right and supplementing my diet with the right nutrition. My wife and I turn 40 this year and we feel incredible. In fact, we’ve come up with a motto this year that “we’re kickin’ 40's BUTT!”
I’ve become such a believer in BeachBody Fitness that I became a BeachBody Coach. My purpose in doing this is twofold. First, it’s a great way to stay connected with other motivated people who are going to the next level in their lives. The resources on the Team BeachBody website are top notch for fitness, nutrition and life in general. I have a degree in computer science and have spent the last 10 years in the internet technology field and can make this claim – teambeachbody.com is one of the best websites I’ve seen. The online WOWY program (Work Out With You) is a great tool to schedule workouts and track your progress. You can even win money and prizes while using the system.
My second purpose in becoming a coach is the great business opportunity. I am very familiar with business. In addition to my technology company, my wife and I have had 2 other companies. After talking to our coach, Robert Hudgens, and discovering his success story I decided to investigate for myself. I flew to Santa Monica, California to tour the BeachBody facility and meet the leaders of the organization. Let me say this about the company – it is the real deal! These people are passionate about fitness and health!
