Hey workout buddy, I am glad that you have decided to get serious this time and that the yo-yo tendency is behind you. We are here to help each other, right? Allow me to share some things with you from the heart: :-) My Beachbody experience: When I first saw Tony Horton and the Power 90 infomercial in the middle of the night, I said to myself, "This is exactly what I had been looking for!" Only I really hadn't been looking, but it just hit me that I had been letting myself go more and more until I was out of control, and I was so out of shape that I almost didn't care anymore. But I knew it wasn't right. I had just heard a new statistic on the news that week that said, "Being overweight was as bad as, or 'worse' on your health than smoking cigarettes!" "WOW!!!" I said out loud when I heard that. I want to be around for my family. The way I was going, it was only going to go downhill from there unless I stopped messing around and got serious about it. When I got my Power 90 pack and started reading the Program Guide and the Diet Guide, I began looking at this as preventative health care and something I had to do for myself and my family. I followed each of the steps in the Program guide. Page 20, Making the Power 90 Commitment is what got me fired up. It was no longer whether I will do P90 or not, but I decided I WOULD do P90 6 days a week. The only question then was "HOW INTENSE." I wrote down my TOP THREE MOTIVATORS, and posted them on the fridge. This really helped me! Making the Power 90 Commitment My Motivators Are: 1. I want to be fit, to be and feel healthy for myself and my family! 2. I want to get down under 194 lbs. & 22.8% body fat, to fit into my suit pants and jeans. 3. I want to see if I can get ripped abs / a 6 pak! I did all the things to help me keep on track: Photos, measure, weigh, at the beginning and each 30 days. I put the before photo on the refrigerator, along with my P90 calender. I got the Performance Formula and the Men's formula, along with some good vitamins. This helped me a lot. I could tell the difference the supplements made in my endurance, recovery and strength so I could work harder. Then for me, it was a decision of being consistent. Whether I felt like working out or not didn't matter. Like the Nike slogan, "Just do it!" I just did it! And when it comes down to it, I did it for myself, not to please anyone else, but I did it for me, my family and for my health. :-) Like Tony H. says, a train doesn't turn on a dime. It takes time to get it slowed down, stopped then slowly headed the other direction. "Decide, commit, succeed!" Those are not just words. If you do that this time, you will succeed. Debby, my wife, and I started P90 together, and we each lost 40 lbs. We now see staying in shape and eating right as a way of life. We may fall off the routine for a short time, but then we just make ourselves get right back on. Friend, again I just wanted to share this from the heart with you and everyone else who could identify with it. I hope it is an encouragement for you. :-) Sincerely, David ================== UPDATE: February 1, 2008 Hi, I'm a P90 grad and was doing P90X until I was sidelined by an injury about a year ago. I am starting over again with P90. This is a great program. It is great to be able to workout again, and feel fit. I am looking forward to the health benifits by getting back into shape. "Bring it!" UPDATE: May 31, 2008 I finished a round of Power 90 with great results on May 3, 2008. I did a recovery week and I am now in my 3rd week of Power 90 Master Series, Standard Program. I really like it. I feel in Great Shape. I am down to 204, just 10 lbs. from my ideal goal weight for my height (6'2"). At this point I am more concerned about my over all health. These programs are the real deal. They are helping me with a healthy life-style to meet my fittness goals for my health and my family. UPDATE: August 25, 2008 I started P90X on August 25. I really like the X. I took it a little easy the first week to get used to the routines and not get too sore. I love the variety P90X has as well as the results I know it will give me. Come on Tony! X me! UPDATE - November 22, 2008 Finished my First Round of P90X!!! I feel in great shape. My wife said she could see my Abs!!! Going to start Second round of P90X, LEAN version this time, December 1, 2008. X me again Tony! | ||||||||
