Hello! My name is Dan. I’m a systems analyst for an insurance company and a Team Beachbody coach. I’ve been married to an amazing woman (elkhornKris) for over 7 years. We were blessed with two wonderful boys, 5 1/2 years old and 20 months old.

In addition to my new found enthusiasm towards fitness, I also enjoy golf, baseball and first and foremost spending time with my family.

Growing up I was always a tall skinny beanpole. I could eat whatever I want, and not worry about any weight issues. I was always active playing sports, and my metabolism was on par with a goat. I’ve been the same height (6 foot plus) since the 7th grade. Because I was always active, and never had any weight issues, I never felt the need to actively workout outside of playing sports. I tried to get into working out a couple times in my life, but I just didn’t enjoy it. My father and brother always joked with me about my ability to eat whatever I wanted. They’d say, “It’ll catch up to you eventually”. Boy, were they right! After school, I worked as a project manager for a fire restoration company, so I was still staying quite active. Late in 1997, I decided to embark on a new career, information technology, which meant sitting in front of a computer for 8 to 12 hours a day. Talk about a shock to the system. My metabolism came to a screeching halt, but my eating habits sure didn’t. The first 3 months in my new profession, I gained close to 30 pounds. After about 4 years in this profession I was up close to 60 pounds. I tried a couple times to get it under control by dieting and working out, but it’d only last a couple months. I’d be back to my old ways in no time.

Well, having such a wonderful family with 2 very active boys, I finally decided enough is enough. I was tired of being out of shape, I was tired of being out of breath from walking up a flight of stairs and I was just tired of being so tired. So beginning as a new year’s resolution (2008), I started using WOWY as a motivational tool. I found it fascinating that so many people were using this site as workout tool. It really made a difference for me, reading about other peoples amazing transformations can be the greatest motivational tool out there. I started to see the same people on-line at the same time every day. I started to feel like I was working out with those people. Hence the name Work Out With You :) I also noticed that for the first time in my life, I looked forward to working out, I was really enjoying it! I was able to drop 30 pounds by just eating healthier and working out 6 times a week for the first 3 months of 2008. Now that I’ve dropped some weight I’ve decided to try some of the Beachbody products. I will be finishing up slim in 6 in a couple weeks and have ambitions on attempting a round of P90X after that. I’m looking forward to continuing my transformation with Beachbody.

Update 01/05/09-
Well, I stayed fairly even for the rest of the year, dropped another 10 pounds (total of 39 for 2008) using Power 90. But my procrastination is over. I started P90X today, and I was thrilled with it. I was pleased with how well I was able to do the Chest and Back routine. Thanks to taking 1 year of getting into average shape. Looking forward to the next 90 days.
