I've battled my weight for the last ten years. I was able to keep my weight pretty much in check until I got pregnant five years ago. I put on about 35 pounds during my pregnancy, but instead of losing the weight after giving birth - I gained it and kept gaining it for the next three years. I was so overwhelmed with becoming a mom and working that I just quit looking in a mirror. I would see pictures of myself and it would still not register how fat I had let myself become.
It wasn't until my health started to suffer that I decided to give myself a reality check. I went to the doctor for a routine check-up and was told that I had high blood pressure and was likely a type II diabetic. He went on to tell me that I was clinically obese. 'How could that be?', I asked myself. 'Obese?' That was a word I used to define "other" people - you know, the one's of Jerry Springer fame. Well, turns out I'm not much different than they are. I had to accept the fact that I am not just overweight, but obese - and that my health and life are now in jeopardy.
I've managed to stop gaining weight, but I haven't managed yet to lose the weight either. I keep telling myself 'I'll start on Monday', but Monday never comes. I've read all of the books and watched all of the before-and-after weight loss shows - but I'm still not thin and healthy. What gives? Turns out, I actually have to put the books down, turn off the T.V. and get my oversized butt off of the sofa and MOVE to get my life back.
So, right about the time I was making my New Year's resolution to lose weight - AGAIN, my girlfriend, Coach Lisa, was telling me about how Million Dollar Body has changed her and her husband's life. She told me about the online community and how accountability will make a difference in my weight loss journey. She encouraged me to take the challenge and make Million Dollar Body a part of my life, too.
If the thought of taking this journey alone seems overwhelming and waiting for the perfect Monday to start your diet just never comes, I challenge you to become a part of Million Dollar Body and take the journey with me. Together, we can change our lives and our bodies while becoming who we are intended to be. I'll support you each step of the way and help you reach your goals while helping myself finally reach my own goal of becoming Fit 'n Fabulous by 40!
