I have always struggled to keep weight off, but am currently at the largest I
have ever been. I have two beautiful children, but have had a rough time in
that area...two years after marriage, my husband and I wanted to start a
family, but it wasn't that easy. After a year with no luck, I started fertility
treatments and had a miscarriage, followed by two healthy pregnancies in 3
years (both with fertility treatments) leaving me with about 20 extra pounds
along the way. I put the kids, family and job first and left little time for me to
take care of myself. This summer I became pregnant and stopped working
out because I was worried for the baby (even thought exercise is said to be
healthy during pregnancy) and it didn't matter because at 14 weeks our first
ultrasound revealed the baby no longer had a heartbeat. It has taken me
awhile to get back into exercising, but I don't want to ever stop again...it
makes me feel so much better physically, and better about myself.
I work full time, so going to a gym with two small children is not an option if
I want quality time with my children during the week. My husband and I saw
P90X on TV and thought that was something we could do together after we
put the kids to bed at night. I had purchased other fitness videos, but he
always thought they were too "girly" and would not do them with me. A
workout partner makes us both more accountable and we have had not
problems sticking to the workouts.
He is having great success at both coaching and with the workouts- I can't
wait to be proud of my own "after" photos.
