I am a 29 year old Wildland Firefighter. I work the fire season in Alaska and later where ever else I’m needed in the Lower 48. I spend my winters in the Washington D.C. area with my wife. It’s a crazy life I know, but it works for us. I love working out and being active! And out hiking and working on remote fires throughout the U.S. is the best job I can think of. I keep busy in the winters hitting the gym (now P90X at home), running, biking, hiking, kayaking, climbing, skiing, snowshoeing and anything else that gets me out.

Like many I’m sure, I first saw P90X on a late night infomercial. It was on my days off from a fire near Las Vegas. Instantly I was intrigued, not a get-fit-quick gimmick but an actual program that if you worked hard and followed it, you could get the desired results you’ve always wanted. I’ve always been in good shape, being a Wildland Firefighter it’s a requirement, not only to do the job but also to prevent injury. We exercise everyday during the fire season when we’re not on a fire. And during my winter off-time I would hit the gym, run, hike, bike…etc. But I never really had an overall plan and my physical results reflected this. I got P90X after I finished the fire season this year (2007). Finally a set workout plan: three months to get in the best shape possible and hit next fire season head on. I decided id I’m going to do it, I’m going to do it right. I bought a pull-up stand, weights, P90X recovery drink, protein bars and the Protein drink. I just started phase two and I am already seeing great results and feeling much fitter! I have not been disappointed. The P90X workouts are some of the best I have ever done. They combine exercises I have done in the past with several new ones and the sessions are intense! I absolutely love this program and I can’t to see the results after phase three!
