In November of 2004 I had to be sent home from work because I could not walk. I was suffering from a ruptured disk in my lower back. I was overweight and unhealthy. My posture was awful and I was very depressed. At 25 I was about to lost the ability to walk. I didn’t know what I was going to do. I was shocked when my orthopedic surgeon prescribed physical therapy. I didn't see how exercise could make the pain better. I was so glad that he did that because I began moving again. I then decided that I would have to also change the way I eat, so I did, but I was still unsure of what to do.
When therapy ended I felt lost again. What kind of workout should I do now? One morning in January of 2005 I saw a commercial for Yoga Booty Ballet. It was just a 60 second spot, but I felt like fate had stepped in. I felt like I had to order. When it came in, I read every piece of paper in that box and got my doctor's approval. I felt like someone was going to help me take care of myself. I wasn't alone. So I logged on, and began scheduling my workouts. I also started a food journal and a "Goddess Diary".
I loved YBB. From February to April I had already lost about 20 pounds. It was very exciting. I then moved on to Slim in 6 and Michi's Ladder. I felt even healthier. I loved Debbie's structure and guidance so much that I also ordered the Slim Series. This helped me to lose another 25 pounds and reach my goal weight.
I have never been within the healthy weight range in my life. At one point, in high school, I weighed 220 pounds. People are amazed when they see me. Everyone wants to know my "secret". I tell them all about Beach Body and how they can be a success story, too.
I am currently working on maintaining my 45 pound weight loss and toning up. I am using Power 90 for the first time, and I have even gotten my husband to join me. I am about to celebrate my Beach Body Anniversary on February and I think I will post my "after" picture from that celebration. I am also happy to report that I have no more back problems and I do not have to take any medication or require any surgery for it. Living well has healed me!
