After getting out of the Marine Corps in 1992, settling down with my wife and starting a family the following 12 years brought a slower lifestyle. I was eating all the wrong foods and basically had become a couch potato. This was a perfect recipe for weight gain. I was stressed out, started feeling aches and pains and just assumed that was part of getting older. I weighed 218 pounds and after seeing a picture of myself holding up my youngest daughter(double chin, 38+ pants) followed by a picture of myself 21 years old in the Marine Corps I had enough. I decided to do a low calorie crash diet to get my weight down. It didn't take very long and I was down to 171 pounds. There wasn't any focus on resistance training and I didn't have anyone to coach me on nutrition or exercise so I was too thin without the muscle mass to have it look good....by May 2007 I was back up to 203 pounds.

On May 15, 2007 I joined a local gym and started working out five days a week and used a personal trainer three of those days. At the beginning of the program I was doing resistance training combined with a lot of cardio. What I discovered is the personal trainer really didn't have time to talk much about nutrition and really help me take my fitness to the next level. He was scheduled back to back with other clients, not to mention the cost of the sessions really started to hit the budget.

I first heard about Beachbody and specifically their P90X program in July 2007. I initially visited the beachbody website...read some testimonials, watched some of their videos and then I stumbled across the P90X infomercial one day when I was flipping channels... It was at this moment that I realized the infomercial showed real people getting real results. I immediately ordered the P90X program. The concept of muscle confusion really made sense and many people using P90X have proven that it works!

For the first time in my life I can actually see my ab muscles...at 38 years old I am absolutely in the best shape of my life!! Thank you Beachbody!
