My Photos | JoeyJr858 I just hit my 32nd birthday 4 months ago. A few days after Christmas, I weighed in at the highest I have ever been; 278 lbs. I had a physical recently and found out that I have a fatty liver and luckily, after testing, did not obtain diabetes. A few days after Christmas, I weighed in at the highest I have ever been; 278 lbs. I had a physical recently and found out that I have a fatty liver and luckily, after testing, did not obtain diabetes. I am 5'9 and according to charts... my ideal weight is 175-200 (if I recall that correctly). Physically, (in a shirt), I would appear to be in somewhat decent shape. Proper posture has become a neccessity rather than an attained goal. I knew w/ my health checkups... I needed to make changes, and now! Back in 1994, fresh into my 1st year of college, I had attended an musical halftime show in which my brother-in-law was teaching. Out of all things that needed to be taken off the basketball gym; I just had to pick up the heaviest thing; the tympani. As soon as I lifted (improperly) I heard it... I popped something in my lower back. From then on I've never recovered and with weight gain and poor posture (back then)... I suffered countless back spasms, sleepless nights, and lenghty inactivity. Not even a few months later, I get into my first car accident. Already in pain, my lower back spasms increased after getting side swiped. Over the next few years, I jumped into hobbies to keep me active... boogieboarding (back in 1993) and polynesian entertainment (2000). My weight then was 155. Into my 2nd year of drumming and dancing w/ the polynesian group... I got injured. We rehearsed outdoors one night without doing ANY stretching. Straight into routines at full energy and effort. On a squat move, I collapsed. My knee felt like it ripped completely in front and I haven't fully recovered since. That was in 2002. The back and knee pains had forced me to take on less active employment. I used to do stock and store replenishment at Office Depot. I used to cut lawns and help out w/ a landscaping company. I used to be able to last on a basketball court for more than the first 3 scores. I used to be able to wash dishes without pain from slightly leaning over. I used to walk 1 flight of stairs w/out huffing and puffing. I used to be able to tie my shoes w/out gasping for air sucking in my stomach, just so I could reach. I used to be able to sleep!!! The phrase "I used to..." had become something I just accepted. Just over a year ago, my wife and I took our dating to the next level and got married! With the goal to slim down; I failed...miserably. I believe I weighed in at about low 260's on my wedding day. My stomach still protruded through my custom tailored tuxedo. Definitely NOT what I envisioned on the best day of my life. Still working desk jobs and not making the time to even a simple stroll around the block. All this brings me to today... I just about finished recovering from Nasal surgery for a deviated septum. 32 YEARS of poor breath intake! Finally fixed! I CAN BREATHE!I went into 2008 knowing I would start the p90 program as soon as I recovered. Well that day's today... I finally popped in the dvd on my laptop that I set up in the garage. Sculpt and Sweast 1-2. WOW was I HORRIBLE! Grew faint a few times, but knew to only push my body as tolerable. Without a gym partner, Tony does an incredible job staying interactive w/ you. Keeps you motivated. So that's where I stand. A good friend of mine introduced me to p90 just before the new year and showed me his 90 day progress on the p90X. INCREDIBLE! I was so fascinated that I had to order my p90 that same day. I want to be a success story! I want to do all that I "used to" be able to do hopefully pain free. I know my heavy belly didn't help my low back pains at all. So that's my story! Today's the first step in changing my life! Aloha, Joey Jr My Progress My Fitness Goal: Transformation Story

With my nasal surgery in the first week of Jan, I knew I wasn't allowed to put any strenous activity on my body. Therefor, I made my trip to the grocery store and started following the recipes provided on p90. 16 days of better eating w/out excercise, and I lost 16 pounds. Incredible. Now that I'm mostly healed, it's time to find out how much more incredible my results will be including daily exercise!
