Like so many woman, my metabolism slowed down after I turned 30. The lean, toned body that I took for granted, slowly became overweight and flabby. In a matter of 4 years my weight had gone from 120 to around 150. I started figure skating when I was 34. I just loved the sport and I skated everyday. In about 6 months I had lost 25 pounds, but then I moved and I was no longer able to skate without a long commute. At 36, in June 2000 I got married and weighed 132. One year later I weighed almost 200 pounds!
That’s when I discovered Beachbody. I saw an infomercial for Power 90 and ordered it. I was very excited about the program, but I lacked the commitment and I quit around day 40 even though I was seeing results. My marriage ended (partly because of my weight – very sad) and I began counting calories here and there and started and stopped workouts. At this point my weight was around 150 and I had turned 40. I saw another Beachbody infomercial for Slim in 6 and was inspired to get fit again, so I ordered it. After 2 weeks and 3 days, I gave up – more lack of commitment. I spent the next 2 years gaining and losing weight, never really committing to a healthy lifestyle.
By December of 2007 I weighed 155 pounds. I was very unhappy with how I looked in clothes and how unhealthy I felt. Twice in two weeks, two different people asked me when my baby was due, and I am not pregnant!! That was it, I had enough! Even though I hadn’t been successful in committing myself to the Beachbody workouts and supplements, I still believed in the products and decided that January 1, 2008 would be the day that I started a lifelong commitment to my health and fitness with Beachbody’s help.
I lost 5.5 pounds my first week using the Fast Start method of the Slim in 6 program! I still have my original Slim in 6 success chart and I felt a great sense of accomplishment when I surpassed the Xs that I had checked from when I started and quit the first time around. As of 2/13/08, I have completed Slim in 6 and lost 17.5 pounds, 7.5 inches and I feel stronger and healthier!! As of 3/14/08 I completed the 4 week advanced calendar of Turbo Jam Maximum Results. On 3/17/08, I started another round of SI6 and completed it on 4/30/08. I'm currently doing Ten Minute Trainer and I love it! It fits right into my school schedule. The Team Beachbody Club and the Beachbody message boards are great and I work out on WOWY everyday with other workout buddies.
