I have been interested in and fascinated by fitness for a long time, and have always been a proponent of "everything in moderation." BeachBody is a great fit for me because it's not a fad, it's not extreme, it's not even a diet...it's a way of life that's realistic and maintainable. I have a Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology from CSU Long Beach and for many years was a true "gym rat." Then

July 2009! I haven't checked in on here officially in a year as I've continued to really vary in my exercise committment. This past month, the program for which I have been waiting since I started as a Beachbody Coach ARRIVED. I am so excited about INSANITY. I am actually committed to sticking with it - one program only - for 60 days! That says a lot :) I've been doing the one preview workout for over a month now and have already seen some improvement in the muscle tone in my arms, legs and abs, so I'm a bit ahead of the game, but can't wait to see what happens when I add in the rest of the workouts. I'll keep you posted - or better yet, you can join me!

June/July 2008 - What a crazy summer this has been! I've been busier than I ever thought possible and am back to my old ways..."skinny fat" due to not eating enough and not exercising enough. The 10-Minute Trainer program is great when you don't have a lot of time. I've tried most of the workouts and they're very challenging AND very intense! The good news is that I've scaled back my commitments outside the house and am determined to get myself back on track - eating, sleeping, and exercising! Please help hold me accountable to these goals and I'll return the favor. Feel free to contact me anytime! FITNESS@COACHKRISTEN.COM

May 2008 - You might be as surprised as I am to learn that my heel STILL hurts. I've decided to just ignore it and exercise anyway, but in the meantime I've fallen OUT of the habit I'd gotten into. So, I'm back to trying to figure out just where to fit working out into an already packed schedule. I always feel SO much better when I work out, but I also can always think of about a bazillion other things I "should" be doing. So please join me in my efforts to PUT MYSELF FIRST and make time to exercise.

April 2008 - Well, this turned out to be a very frustrating month! I had an appointment at the dermatologist and she decided she didn't like the look of a mole on my left heel, of all places...so I had to have the mole removed. It was benign, but that was almost 3 weeks ago and my heel is still sore! I haven't been able to really work out - just abs and pilates - and I'm getting really sick of it! To make matters worse, I received my copy of Tony Horton's 10-Minute Trainer the day I had the surgery, so I still haven't been able to try any of te workouts but abs! I will have to report on that next month :) In the meantime, I've been trying to be good about what I eat so I don't backpeddle too much...I can't wait to see you all in WOWY again!

March 2008 - I've now added Shaun T's Rockin' Body to my workout rotation. I had some seriously sore shoulders of all things after doing the "Rock It Out" workout. I love all of the options I have with BeachBody workouts - no matter how much or little time I have I can find something that will give me a great workout. The biggest change I'm noticing lately is how tight and toned I'm getting in my glutes and legs thanks to the Slim Series workouts and all the squats, lunges, and other leg work. Another few weeks of this and maybe I'll actually enjoy swimsuit shopping this year?!?!?!
-----------------
February 2008 - Last month I discovered Debbie Siebers' Slim Series. WOW. The workouts are all at least an hour long and are full body workouts that really work. Lots of squats and lunges as well as low weigh/high rep upper body strength training for long, lean muscle tone. Even through the sicknesses of both of my kids and seemingly everyone around me, I've stayed healthy. Maybe I can thank the new AWESOME Beachbody Omega Supplement? Being healthy and fit also makes me more motivated to stay true to a good eating plan and not sabotage myself by eating a ton of junk. I love that I'm setting a good example for my kids in the process.

January 2008 - Not bad for the Holiday season - I consistently exercised 4 times a week...which I haven't done in years. The 30 minute workouts available (Power 1/2 Hour and Hip Hop Abs are my favorites!) are not only challenging and fun, but give great results in a short period of time. As a busy mom of 2 I don't usually have time to go to the gym, so I can work out at home with effective programs - all while having a chance to earn cash and prizes! I am seeing more definition in my legs, buns, arms, abs and thighs and feel good about myself each and every time I finish that cool down and wipe the sweat from my face!

December 2007 - Out of shape. Stressed out from working too hard. Not setting a good example for my kids. That's my story...does it sound familiar? It is particularly hard for me to live with since I am a certified personal trainer with NSCA, one of the most pretigious certifying organizations, and have an MS in Exercise Physiology from CSU Long Beach. When I first found MDB, I hadn't exercise regularly since getting pregnant with my son - who was then 2 years old. I decided to create a WOWY account in the hope that the potential to win cash and prizes just for logging in would get me motivated to push play. I have enjoyed trying the different programs that MDB offers - I love Shawn T and Tony and have been amazed by all the new muscles I've discovered! While I may not have a lot of weight to lose, I know that I can be much more healthy, energetic, and WELL. It is a daily struggle to fit in the workouts between various jobs, 2 children, and a husband, but ultimately, it makes me better in everything I do if I put myself first. I am currently doing Tony Horton's Power 1/2 Hour program. It's pretty amazing what you can accomplish in just 30 minutes a day!
