My transformation started in May 2007 when I was laid off from my job of 5 years. I had been working out at the gym before, but still wasn’t eating like I should have been. After being laid off, I continued my gym membership even though it was a distance from my house. I had to keep some thing in my life that was regular. I continued going to the gym until July, working out and following the food program my trainer friend had given me. I had lost 25 pounds in two months. I was excited. I couldn’t believe how well I was doing. During this time I finally got to focus on me and only me, plus I was less stressed not working. I had not realized how stressed out I was where I worked. Of course I wished I could stay at home and not have to have a job, but reality set in and I needed to start looking for work. With finding a job came giving up the gym. I would be working on the opposite side of town and the gym was not conveniently on the way to work any more. I started my new job and working out at home. I wasn’t seeing results like I was in the gym doing my home workouts but I was maintaining. Then one day I was watching the beachbody.com info commercials like I had always done (I had done Power 90 in the past and had great results) plus I liked to look and point out the people I had made contact with in the past that were in the commercials. After watching the Power 90X commercial for the 50th time or more, I finally decided to purchase the X and step up my home workouts up a bit. What could I lose, if I purchased the program? If I didn’t like it I could always send it back. October 1, 2007 – I began my Power 90X journey. My starting weight on Day 1 was 260 pounds with my Day 90 weight being 250. I know I only lost 10 pounds, but 10 pounds is 10 pounds. Most of my results came in inches lost and body fat. I lost a total of 5 inches in my waist, 3 inches in my hips and 2.5 inches in my chest. My body fat went from 31% to 25% in 90 days. I am more excited about the body fat loss than the pounds being lost. Plus I am amazed with the strength, flexibility and endurance I have now after completing Power 90X. I am doing things that I have not been able to do and trying new things. I have added Turbo Jam and Hip Hop Abs in to my workout program and have also gotten myself back in the gym, so that I can use the swimming pool. I was a competitive swimmer since the age of 8 and quit swimming after high school. I couldn’t have jumped back in the pool and swam 1000 meters the first time with out having done Power 90X. I am still amazed at what I have accomplished with the program. I started traveling with one of my part time jobs and started slacking with my workouts and getting back in to the bad habit of eating the wrong foods again. It’s so hard to make the right choices when everyone else around you is eating whatever they want. I gained my weight back and starting feeling I wasn’t going to meet my fitness goal. I actually gave up and quick working out until I had a few people from the message boards and my coach get me motivated in to working out again. I started working out again doing different programs from Beachbody. Still wasn’t losing until June of 2008. With money being tight and not able to eat out like I use too, I started buying and making better choices when grocery shopping. I couldn’t splurge on those extras like chips, cookies and sodas, so I had to buy what I needed to eat healthy. I started seeing changes one I started eating right and was losing. I was excited. Then I was going through the Beachbody.com message board and found a 60 Day Turbo Jam Challenge that was starting June 13. I decided to join it and thankful I did. Since joining the group of ladies in the challenge I have lost 12lbs and over 13 inches. I haven’t seen results like this in a long while. The ladies keep me motivated and encourage me to continue pushing play every day. I am looking forward to seeing my 60 day results and I can’t wait to share them with you. Looking forward to challenging myself to another 60 days.
