Stevenson Ranch, CA Once upon a time, I was a professional mountain bicycle racer: fastest downhiller in the USA. Then a series of “unfortunate events” happened so I medicated myself with food and gained 55 pounds. For three years I went to the gym (inconsistently) and only lost 10 pounds. With Beachbody, I lost 26 pounds in just a few months and won $1000 in the Jan 2008 transformation contest. With Beachbody, I lost 26 pounds in just a few months and won $1000 in the Jan 2008 transformation contest. I kept pressing play with a few timeouts as life kept “happening” and I was able to lose another 8 pounds. I am now 55 years old. There is a stubborn middle ring of fat still hanging on as it does in many women my age. It is time for it to vacate the premises and take 10 pounds with it. No more free rides on this body. “Fat! You have been served notice. I am coming after you.” Personal stuff: I am a junior high math teacher, married to a lovely man who suffered a massive stroke just 3 months after we were married in 2002. I couldn’t work for three years while I helped him regain his independence. That resulted in my orginal massive weight gain. I have two grown and very precious children plus a Beagle (named Beagly). I love to back pack in the wilds, hike, ride my bike and continue my fitness journey.

I am still “transforming” and I plan on losing another 6% body fat and 10 to 15 pounds. I successfully finished P90X “Lean Version” but ate clean only about 60% of the time. After mixing in some “ Yoga Booty Ballet”, Shaun T’s “Hip Hop Abs”, and “ Turbo Jam” I started “Chalean Extreme”. “Chalean Extreme is simple, streamlined and effective. I took it on my Alaskan Cruise but my DVD player broke so I didn’t do the last two weeks. I went to the ship’s gym and did my best. This 2009 summer is a challenge: so many trips, being home only 11 days. I am being fairly active this summer by mixing in various workouts and activities until my final return Aug 9th when I will start “P90 X- Classic” . Life happens, plans change, travel is a certainty. I am learning how to keep the focus in the midst of it all. It’s not easy but my life depends on it. Life is an adventure. I am so grateful that I am healthy enough to have this opportunity.
