My name is Mike Pomeroy and I am a 58 year old father of a seventeen year old girl. Throughout the majority of my adult life I have maintained my fitness level primarily by lifting weights, jogging and over the last 3 years riding a road bike. After my recent divorce, I was flipping through the TV channels and ran across the P90X infomercial. During the next couple of weeks I saw the infomercial My name is Mike Pomeroy and I am a 58 year old father of a seventeen year old girl. Throughout the majority of my adult life I have maintained my fitness level primarily by lifting weights, jogging and over the last 3 years riding a road bike. After my recent divorce, I was flipping through the TV channels and ran across the P90X infomercial. During the next couple of weeks I saw the infomercial a couple more times and was really impressed with the results the participants were showing. What I liked most about the program was that it was not a get-fit-quick solution and the muscle confusion idea to avoid the plateau effect made sense.
Currently, I have just completed the P90X program. This is the first structured exercise program that I have ever undertaken and I am very happy with the results. Nutritionally, I have made some major improvements in my eating habits. I have virtually cut out fast-food, soda and even reduced my beer intake (I have to be careful with the beer. I don’t want to lose my friends in the process). I am now training for the Arnold's Pump and Run contest which is being held in Columbus, Ohio on March 8th. Prior to the 5k run, each participant bench presses his weight up to a max of 30 repetitions. For each rep completed, up to a maximum of 30 reps, 30 seconds is deducted from your 5k time. I can currently complete 26 reps which would subtract 13 minutes from my 5k time. I'll keep you posted on my progress and final results. Following the event, I will repeat the P90X program again.

Since a recent divorce, I have used my free time to improve my overall health and fitness level. Since June, I have lost over 15 pounds by improving my nutrition and increasing my exercise. In was in October that I saw the P90X infomercial and realized that it was the vehicle that could take me to the next level. I have just completed the twelve week P90X program and I am very happy with the results.
