I have a fiance of 4 years named Adrian. He is such an awesome person and very inspirational. Everything he tries he accomplishes, and I mean everything. He is such a P90X freak! I love that we have this in common. I enjoy outdoor activities, traveling, history, volunteering and cooking. I am organized, really border-line obsessive compulsive, but hey, aren't most teachers?? I am really excited to get toned and can't wait to see the success of everyone WOWY'n with me!

When I was in the second grade I was 5'3'' and weighed 102 pounds. Even though I was tall for my age, really tall, I felt like I was fat. That feeling of being fat stuck with me for most of my adolescent life and really haunted me. Instead of playing with friends I would stay inside and listen to adults talk or draw and I did as little as possible in order to avoid drawing attention to myself. As I grew older I became very athletic and my weight never slowed me down or kept me from playing sports, but it did effect my self esteem. After college I had gotten a little soft and my athletic body had turned to mush. My thighs that once squated 350 lbs. looked like they were 350 lbs a piece. I new I had to do something so I entered into a health challenge at my athletic club. At that time I didn't really think that I was fat, just a little overweight. Then, one day after almost finishing the fitness challenge at my athletic club, I saw a past student of mine and she said, "Wow! You aren't fat anymore!" She meant it as a compliment, but I guess the truth always hurts a little. A few days after that I won "The challenge" at my athletic club and a lifetime membership! I never thought that I would win, but I am so proud of myself for sticking with it and reaching my goals. (The photos that are posted are the photos from the competition starting in January of this year and ending in May.) I decided to really commit myself to living healthier while I was on Christmas vacation in 2006. I was given a healthy living start-up kit produced by Forever Living Products. I instantly saw results, felt more energized and in control. The man who gave me these products was my uncle. He knew that I could change my life through diet and exercise and wanted me to be happier with every aspect of life. Unfortunately he passed away of a heart-attack before I won the last challenge. I only wish that he could have seen what his kind gift did for me. Now, it is my turn to share a gift with people around me. I hope to be an inspiration. I want to help people learn how to live again and get up off that same couch that served as a safe zone for me for so many years. Life is precious and the way we live it can have awesome affects on how we feel physically and emotionally. I know now that I can do it, and I want to help others reach their goals. MDB is a perfect fit for my continuing plans for greatness!! As a teacher I plan to reach out to my colleagues within the next few months and start a workout program for students this summer...I will let you know how it works.
