Below is my story after reading it if you have any questions or would like to learn more you can email me at mburris@acuren.com or visit my website www.shapeupwithmatt.com I will be more than happy to help you in any way I can. Growing up I was always playing sports and was in pretty good shape. I graduated high school at 198lbs and was in a little built from our baseball coach making us lift weights but after school I gave up the weights. My life before I started P90X was about the same as most people. I came home from work sat in my chair and unwound with a beer, then another. Well it caught up with me and not doing any daily activity was not helping out either. When I did do any type of activity it was riding around in the golf cart until I had to get out of the cart to hit. You can’t burn a lot of calories that way. It didn’t take much to get out of breath and I was always looking for an excuse to take a nap. I took a new position a work sitting behind a desk instead of being out in the field all day that was not providing me with any help also. I just didn’t have any energy and my wife said that I was always cranky. Not to mention I was not happy when I looked in the mirror. We had our first child in ’06 and my life style didn’t change much but in September of ’08 I was going thru some pictures of me and my boy at the swimming pool and was just sick at what I saw. I was 212 lbs with a 43.5” beer gut. Started thinking to myself I can’t even keep up with a 2 year old. That belly has to go. I really did not want to be the father that was fat sitting on the sidelines of my kids sporting event running out of breath cheering for him. I wanted to be the in shape coach down there with him teaching him what I knew. And even though she won’t admit it I don’t think my wife was enjoying the extra 30lbs I put on since we got married. Sitting on the couch one day in September I saw the infomercial and told my wife this was going to be the workout I wanted to try. I really didn’t fill like joining a gym so P90X was going to work out great. I knew that I was going to have to be really motivated working out by yourself, you always do. I ask my wife to make sure she gave me all the support she could by not temping me with unhealthy food. I saw the guys on the TV just sweating away and knew how hard they must have been working. When the package arrived I went straight to work and was totally pumped. I also knew that I would only get out of this program what effort I put in it so staying focused was a very serious deal. I had a long road ahead of me but I was up for the challenge. My Progress My Fitness Goal: Build Muscles Transformation Story

I had a lot of temptations to overcome. Completely change the way I was eating was the biggest transformation. I had to no longer eat two plates of the unhealthy garbage I sucked down every day. I also had to make myself come straight home and go to work. No more sitting on the couch and relaxing until bedtime which had became a ritual. I used the discouraging words of my fellow coworkers that said there was no way I could stick this out especially with the holiday coming as a great form of motivation. I also kept the constant reminder of my kid trying to play with a fat out of shape dad in the back of my mind. I knew my body was very adaptable to change and every time I looked and read the forums I knew that I could do it to. The forums had to have been the greatest motivation of all. Now I could not be more pleased with what Beachbody has done for. I have more stamina than I ever thought I could. I can almost run and keep up with my Weimerainer, he is a bird dog with outrageous stamina. I have lost over 49 lbs of fat and added 14 lbs of lean muscle. My BF drop from 33% to 12% and my blood pressure went from 160 over 95 to 110 over 63. My RHR dropped from 72 to 56. I can’t stop looking in the mirror every time I pass one. The best part was the fact that I got to throw away all my clothes and go shopping for new ones. I have to be most pleased with the fact that I have the 6 pack I always wanted. With the summer just around the corner I can’t wait to hang out at the lake and show off my new Beachbody. This is awesome!!!! I have now lost a total of 56 lbs of fat and gained over 16 lbs of muscle. My next step is to add another 15 lbs of muscle without the fat.
