I'm a mother of two young sons and a stay-at-home mom closing in on my 40th birthday. I played on the varisty soccer team in high school and have stayed pretty athletic.I started taking taekwondo after seeing the changes my husband experienced but I needed more. I saw P90X on an infomercial and talked my husband into giving it a try. We are coming up 90 days and we've been amazed at the results.

I've been wanting to re-capture the figure I had before having children. My husband and I lived in Chicago for a few years before we had children and I have always been pretty active and fit. However, I've struggled with my shape since having kids and settling into motherhood in the suburbs.
My commitment to an exercise program has been sporadic. I've belonged to the local gym and bought various pieces of exercise equipment, however, I've desperately needed a disciplined program that I can stick with.
I saw an infomercial for P90X and thought, "This is it!" I knew I needed more than the program - I needed a partner. I was sure if I could get my husband to do it with me I would be more inclined to stick to it. And I can get him to do just about anything. :-)
The first week was brutal and I wasn't sure either of us was going to make it. First, we were getting up at 5:30a.m. since this was the only time of the day we knew we would not have interruptions or get distracted. Our oldest gets on the bus a little after 7:00a.m. so this was the only time we could do it. After almost 80 days into the program, both of us are waking without the alarm. We are going to bed earlier. We've cut our TV viewing to just about nil. I am amazed at the difference we both feel with the quality of our lives.
I was apprehensive about taking the photos and really didn't want to see them because I didn't like what I saw. After taking the 30 day photos I could see subtle differences in my hip region - the area I wanted to attack the most. I liked how I looked in my swim suit. I was looking forward to taking the 60 day photos and my husband didn't have to coerce me to get into my swim suit to take them this time.
Although the changes to my physical appearance are great, the best part is that I feel so much better because I am taking better care of the gift God gave me. My self-confidence and self-esteem have probably seen the greatest change in the last 80 days.
