I have battled my weight most of my life. I have tried all sorts of work out plans and diets, and had some success, but never have attained my goals. This time is different. I have several health issues, and I refuse to let them control me. I need to be in control of them. I was diagnosed with type II diabetes in 2005. I lost about 20 pounds right away, but I yo yo'd. Then in 2007, I realized I needed to kick it in gear. I followed the progress of Jason Scheff, bassist and singer for the band Chicago as he publicly chronicled his journey to fitness. I jumped on the band wagon. In October of 07, I bought Yoga Booty Ballet. I had some trouble at first, and it has taken a while for the weight to start coming off, but I finally have committed to the eating part as well as the work out part. Now I'm down about 15 pounds since I started YBB. I'm down 40 since I was diagnosed with diabetes. And for the first time in my life, I feel the goal is attainable. If it weren't for the message boards, I doubt that I would have had the success I have had so far.
