I completed my 1st round of P90X on July 10, which was my 44 birthday. This was the best workout program that I have ever done. I lost about 15-18 lbs, about 7-8 inches off my waist and hips and about 4% body fat.
The workouts themselves were challenging. My ability to do pushups and pull ups increased from 20 and 1 to 30 and 5. My over all strength improve through out my whole body, and muscle definition also greatly improve. These workouts also introduce me to Yoga, a discipline that I had never tried before and one that I never plan on going with out again.
The nutrition plan also help me to get my eating back on track. While I may still have a treat once in a while, I left junk food out of my diet, and concentrated on eating the right amounts of protein, carbs and fat the each phase of the diet called for. Writing down everything I ate, including my 1 coke I allowed myself a day.
While I'm happy with the results of this program there are still more fitness goals I want to achieve, So I have started my second round of P90X. I plan on being able to do 10 pull ups and 40 pushups, as well as losing another 4% of body fat.
My One Year Update: I've now been doing P90X for a year. This is still the best workout program that I have come across. One thing I found with this program is that there is always room to challenge yourself to the next level. With P90X and good eating habits I have been able to drop 20 lbs and maintain this weight for a year. Looking forward to more improvements in the years to come.
Two Year update: Still working out with P90X program and still loving it. I recently purchase the P90 Master Series, as soon as I finish my latest round of P90X (I'm on round 4)I will start to mix that in with my other workouts. I also recently attended Beachbody's very first Tony Horton Camp in Miami. This is a great experience and would recomend it to anyone who is looking for motivation and good information as well as a fun time.
