First, I can say that I have always had a love affair with food, I've always had issues with my weight and I have spent a great deal of my adult life trying to find the magic work-out or the magic supplement that will push me over the top for good. While I've never been a stranger to heavy workouts, I also have never been a stranger to magically gaining 20 pounds without hardly even noticing until the damage has been done. Over the course of the past 7 years, I've allowed my weight to fluctuate anywhere from 200 to 279, with my current (8/16/07) weight being 258. My comfort zone for my 5'11" frame seems to be 200-215, so needless to say, I haven't been "comfortable" with my weight for a long, long time.
My main source of exercise the past 5-7 years has been (on and off) martial art training... I am currently a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Additionally, my family has a membership to the local Racquet & Fitness Club, which I regret to say I have not used enough since I changed jobs. My numero uno problemo is allowing myself to fall off the horse when I feel I have made sufficient progress in a diet/workout routine. I'm tired of being "content." I wanna be thrilled with myself... I wanna look in the mirror and say, "Good God man, you look awesome!" Awesome is what I want. Content is out, I want awesome. I'm hoping Beach Body diet program and the P90X workouts are what I have been waiting for, but I won't know until I start the program, but from what I am reading in here, this looks like a great way to meet like-minded people who can motivate me to stay on the wagon with them, instead of jumping off at the next intersection of Content and Enough Roads. I hope Awesome Blvd is right up the road, about 90 days away. Wish me luck!
