I'm a 39 yr old male who has been over weight for 20 years. I was as heavy as 282. Three years ago I did loose and get myself down to 212, but I have in the last year gained some back and find myself at about 230. I would love to get under 200 for the first time in 20 years by my 40th birthday. I own my own business and stay very active doing that. I'm also married and the father of 3. So

I first started with my diet. I travel around for my job so fast food was my lunch almost everyday. Plus I would drink a lot of pop/soda. The first things I did was start bringing water with me. I can fit six bottles in my cooler. Every third bottle is a "special treet" I make a flavored water usually one with no calories. I would also bring a lunch. I did not bring "diet foods" just sandwiches and a granola bar, maybe chips. (But I wasn't eating out) For supper I started eating chicken, and Bocca burgers. Smaller portions were something I needed to learn. I never cut out a certain food. I still ate the foods I like, just not as often and as much. If I had a snack at night, I would eat cereal. Then I started to excercise. I never thought I was in too bad of shape untill I tried to get on a treamill. I thought I was going to die walking ONE mile! After a year I worked my way up to running 5 miles a day 5 days a week. Sometimes I would run 7 to 10 miles! A few times I ran 13.2 miles. A half marathon! I really felt good. If I could do it anybody can. It was hard work and I plan on getting to my next goal of 195!
