After 3 years, I went back to school to get my degree in Computer Science, and eventually found the job I have now. I have been an avid cyclist for the last 5 years, both road and mountain, mainly riding local trails. I plan on taking my cycling to a new level in 2008 and participating in local events. I have completed 2 Rounds of P90X, and plan to incorporate it into my long term endurance training.
To me, fitness is about more than just the body, it's about the mind and soul as well. It will give you the confidence to achieve what what you never have before, and a perspective that will change your life. I continue to push myself to new limits everyday in order to reach my fitness/life goals.

I have always been active and in good shape, except while I was going to school. After graduation, I got a desk job, and began to really get out of shape. Five years ago, I decided to guy my first mountain bike. My passion for cycling has my primary motivation for fitness over the past few years.
I eventually added weight training to my regiment as way to work the rest of my body. While I never reached the peak of my fitness, I stayed in good shape. I was failing in several areas due to poor nutrition, lack of intensity, and constant repetition. I used the same conventional workout routine that didn't quite develop everything (lower back, core, etc.), so I still experienced body pains from time to time. As far as nutrition, I used the "If I workout enough, I can eat whatever I Want!" mentality and did just that. The only real intensity I had working out was riding my road bike.
So in 2006, I was trying to get into shape for vacation. Instead of changing my diet, I increased my workouts to 7 days a week, and achieved some moderate results. I continued with this workout regiment till I finally burned out in November. I stopped my workouts, stopped riding, but didn't stop the diet.
In 6 months time, I lost everything I worked for and added some extra! Finally, in June 2007, I started searching for a better fitness routine. I stumbled onto reviews of P90X on the internet, and that led me to the Beachbody forums. I began trolling different threads (especially SuperHero and WunderWoman), until I was motivated enough to buy it. I started P90X in July 2007 and have already finished 2 Rounds. I can't thank Beachbody and Tony Horton enough for the programs they have put together here. My perspective on life, work, and health will never be the same. The sense of accomplishment alone has given me a renewed confidence. I am in the best shape of my life...mentally and physically. I will now use this new perspective to push myself even farther in 2008. I hope you'll join me and the rest of the Beachbody Community.
