West Peoria, IL I decided to become a Team Fit Peoria Coach for several reasons. On a professional level, I have my own Massage Therapy Practice in a wellness clinic and my clients are constantly seeking advice on what supplements to take, what stretches to do, etc. I recommend Shakeology to them which is like a trip to the salad bar with 5 plates. If I am going to educate my clients on the importance of eating I decided to become a Team Fit Peoria Coach for several reasons. On a professional level, I have my own Massage Therapy Practice in a wellness clinic and my clients are constantly seeking advice on what supplements to take, what stretches to do, etc. I recommend Shakeology to them which is like a trip to the salad bar with 5 plates. If I am going to educate my clients on the importance of eating healthy, drinking plenty of water, and exercising, it would only make sense for me to walk the walk if I am going to talk the talk. In addition, the physical nature of massage requires me to have a strong core in order to give my clients an effective treatment. I usually see 5 to 6 clients a day for an hour to 90 minutes at a time. Without strong core muscles, I would not be able to keep up. My motto is, you can't take care of anyone else unless you take care of yourself first. My goal is to help educate the Peoria area on the resources available to them to live a healthy, balanced life.
On a personal level, it has always been a goal of mine to run in the annual Steam Boat Classic race which is a 4 mile race on the riverfront of Peoria. This year I joined Team Steam, the training group for the race. Having ran cross country and track in high school, I thought it would be a piece of cake. Turns out, I was not nearly in the shape I thought I was. I crashed and burned after just one practice, gave up, and never ran the race. This was a wake up call to me that just because I am slim and slender, does not mean I am in good cardiovascular fitness. Secondly, my build is long and tall. My sister would go so far as to call me "gangly." I promise, you do not ever want to see me out dancing in a club. Zero rhythm. I was way too embarrassed to try classes at the gym like Body Pump and Zoomba that required dance-like moves. Now I do Hip Hop Abs where I can look like a total dork in the privacy of my own home. Thirdly, being in my early 30's, it seems like I attend a bridal or baby shower just about every weekend. All my girlfriends are looking for ways to tone up before their wedding or shed post baby pounds and Team Fit Peoria provides me with valuable resources for them. I usually tell them about Slim in 6 which is a great 6 week program to get in shape.
Bottom Line: Making positive lifestyle changes is not as hard as it seems. A little bit everyday goes a long way!
