I started P90X in August, 2007, after my oldest two brothers introduced me to the program. I have been relatively fit & active my entire life, but after my third baby was born, I just couldn't seem to get back into a routine. Getting to the gym everyday after work was nearly impossible, that's what made P90X seemingly ideal for my life. That was exactly the case! I have completed 4 rounds of P90X, but then suffered a wrist injury that took me out of commission for several months. Rather than trying to find things that I could do, I got a bit lazy (at least in my eyes) and even though I had put on some muscle mass prior to my injury, I padded up a little with some unwanted fat. I re-commited and re-started the workouts several times only to get sidetracked by "life." I am working hard to find and maintain a balance that includes my daily workouts, my husband and children, a full time job, and truly loving the life I am living.
I decided to switch gears in March (2009) and started Chalean Extreme. I absolutely love it, I have always enjoyed lifting weights, so this program has been another great fit for me. What I love the most about it is that the workouts are shorter but still super intense and they target a woman's problem areas - the hips and thighs. (I have already dropped some stubborn inches in these areas). I always believed that my "athletic legs" would be the size they were, but with these Beachbody workouts, I have dropped inches and added muscle definition to my entire body WITHOUT BULKING UP. Ladies, you will not get bulky from lifting weights - so do it, and burn some fat in the process! I have never felt this fit and healthy in my entire life!
