I was always a skinny/thin person up until I reached 35. Something went wrong along the way. I guess the metabolism slowed down along with my activity levels while my couch potatoing increased. I've never been a physically active person (I failed gym in high school!) and after 35 couldn't get away with that anymore. I also have always had an incredible sweet tooth and after 35 could no longer get away with that either.
I've made attempts to lose weight using various programs but nothing I have been able to stick to for very long. Last year I tried Nutrisystem but it got to be too expensive and I was getting bored with the prepackaged meals. Didn't lose as much as I had hoped.
I also signed up for Curves and stuck with that for a while but the placed move to another location making it more difficult for me to go after work. I stayed with it for several months and then quit. It took me a while to get that annoying, repetitive workout music they used to play out of my head.
So here I am giving the Beach Body thing a try. Watching my coach Jason Scheff make an amazing transformation over the past 8 months has been a real inspiration to myself and many others. Although, it did take me a while to jump on the bandwagon, as I was afraid to commit to something that I knew I would eventually give up on, as was my pattern in the past. But I have decided to get serious about my health and fitness (and vanity) and am giving this a go. I'm just going to see how far I can take this.
I have been working out to P90 for a couple of months now. I had lost a few lbs but I think my diet needs to change more for me to lose more. So I'm working on that. It's tough though. I'm not into cooking and really don't enjoy it so that makes it difficult for me to avoid resorting to the convenient frozen (albeit diet) dinners. I am also finding it hard to put together interesting but healthy lunches. With the BB message boards and website, I hope to pick up a few things in that department.
