I became a new mom in December to a handsome little boy named Hayden. He is the light of my life and I can't imagine what I did before he came along. He has been an answer to prayer for me and my husband. Chad and I are both in law enforcement. Chad is a sergeant at a large police department. I have been a police & fire dispatcher for 13 years, but now I work part time so I can stay at home with my son. My Progress My Fitness Goal: Transformation Story

When I was in my 20's I weighed about 105 lbs. I became a police dispathcer/9-1-1 operator in 1992 and quit in 1995 when I decided I wanted try another line of work. After two years, I returned to dispatching because I discovered I loved the job and missed it. Dispatching can be a very stressful job. I would sit at the console for long periods of time, sometimes with hardly a bathroom break, much less a meal break. When I could get away to go pick up some food, most of the time I was at the mercy of the fast food restaurants. After a particularly stressful call, healthy food was the last thing on my mind. I wanted pizza, chips & salsa or ice cream to make myself feel better. Before I knew it I had gained 28 pounds. I started Power 90 in March 2003. By July, I went from 133 lbs (I thought I was so big, HA!) to 122 lbs. I thought working out and eating healthy would become a way of life for me, but then in September of that same year, my grandmother died. Her passing threw me into a depression that I had a hard time climbing out of. She was such a huge force in my life. I had a hard time coping with her death and I still miss her so much. I didn’t get to enjoy my new body for long. By November 2003, I was growing out of my small clothes again. I made several attempts to start Power 90 again, but I think a part of me was afraid of failing and not doing as well as I did the first time. I currently weigh 150 lbs, but I have a very good excuse! My husband and I were told that we would never be able to get pregnant on our own and we planned our life around that fact. In early 2006 we realized that we weren't getting any younger and that if we wanted to have a baby we needed to get with the program. After going through fertility treatments, we found out that we were going to have a baby. We were excited, to say the least. Even though we were 38 years old, we were ready for this new addition to our family. At my first doctor visit I weighed in at 135 lbs (two pounds heavier than when I started Power 90 in 2003). I was going to give my baby the best of everything, so I decided to eat very healthy. I totally cut sodas out of my diet. I drank water and ate fruits and veggies like they were going out of style. I did very well for a few months, but then the cravings set in. I don’t know why, but I wanted chips & salsa and breads & cakes. I even started drinking sodas again, both diet and regular. By the time I went to the hospital to deliver I weighed 175 lbs. Despite my weight gain, I had a wonderful pregnancy, until the delivery. When they administered the epidural I had an adverse reaction to it and both my baby and I almost died. They had to do an emergency C-section on me. I now have a large scar that is very sensitive and it still feels tender when I try to do abdominal exercises. This is the most I have ever weighed and I am very uncomfortable in my skin, to say the least. I am still afraid of losing the weight, but I am ready to do P90 again because I want to set a good example for my son. I want to instill in him good eating and exercise habits. I don’t ever want him to know me as being fat or to be embarrassed of me. Power 90 has been an awsome tool for me. I can workout in the comfort and privacy of my own home and I have achieved wonderful results. Beachbody has really cornered the market on health and fitness.
