Earlier this summer my parents came for a visit, they haven't seen me since Christmas 2007. My mom gave me a hug and comments.."wow, you have gained some weight!" I have always been thin and active, but never fit. However with the stress of my job, long/hours, and eating as an escape, I got to the highest I have ever weighed at 170, while still kind of looking skinny...so I had tiny arms and a large mid section. So around Mid July made the commitment to change, I really watched my calories, fat intake, and increased my fiber. I also started swimming about 5 days a week. After a month had some results...losing some of my midsection, however now I looked really thin. When I picked up my daughter at daycare one day, one of the teachers made a comment why I had lost so much weight, because she noticed and said I definitely didn't need to do any more. That same week a friend of mine called and we started to talk about working out, he mentioned his brother started this P90X program, and was sending him pictures where he was looking like he was getting ripped just like a commercial. I had never heard of it (don't watch much TV) but said would look at it. Saw the website and liked the boot camp/extreme like format..was nervous about the time commitment, but since I wanted the results went ahead and purchased. I also got the chin-up bar, bands, and recovery formula. (30 days>>) I have not really lost or gained any weight, but am starting to see more definition in my arms and waist. I can defiantly notice the muscle that has appeared on my left arm. I worked on making sure I could master the moves without pushing myself too hard...this week really trying to keep up with Tony and the kids. I wont use the chair to help me out anymore for chin-ups and do two more push ups when I think I am done. I never planned on buying any more supplements, but that recovery drink is UNBELIVABLE. I love to just open the tub and smell it....its awesome and really is an extra motivator to work out. I also bought a heart rate monitor because its needed and fun to see how many calories have burned. My favorite program is Plyo (absolutely love striking the pose in the Heisman) and Kempo. I am liking Yoga more as I can start performing more of the moves. I use dumbbells for the heavier weights and bands for the lighter since I only have plates and takes too long to switch. I have a really hard time with Ab ripper X, more so because it hurts my tailbone doing a lot of the siting moves...hopefully as I get stronger this will go away. Had to extend my workouts a few days due to Hurricane Ike hitting and we had no power...cleanup served as a workout, but after that was done I picked up where left off so didnt miss a thing. (60 days>>) Starting to see more muscle definition, but mostly noticing the results in my workouts, consistantly more reps on pull-ups, adding more weight so I can keep reps 8-10, yoga is getting even better, can complete the entire warrior 3 sequence with leg raise however cannot yet do crane for a minute, and app ripper for the first time completed mason twist all 50 reps. Because of a weeklong trip out of town decided to add another week to stage 2 with week 10 activities, take my recovery week while I am away and starting Stage 3 from the beginning with Week 9 exercises. (90 days>>) I am pleased with my 90 day results. However with the holidays I lost some of the ab definition I had just 2-3 weeks ago because of eating and lack of cardio while we were out of town. I have decided to go another round because I feel have not reached plateau and still getting results. Getting definition, but not so much size so this round will increase weight, shorten breaks, & eat more protien. Initially will start the classic program again, I did order P90x+ so as soon as I receive will work in.
