Additionally, I love the idea of helping others achieve their health & fitness goals. I have struggled with my weight my entire life - and finally made that decision in July 2007 to do it right this time - and to keep it off for good. At 42, I have also made some other bold moves recently. I sold my home and bought a 40 ft class A motor coach, with an eye toward being able to eventually travel the country. I am currently a self employed attorney handling estate planning & non-litigation business law, and hope to eventually minimize my legal work and have alternate sources of income doing things I enjoy and helping others. My passions include cooking, being outdoors, riding my Harley and weight training. It has been very rewarding to see that I can enjoy great food (in proper portions) and still lose weight. I plan to start writing down my streamlined recipes to share with others. Thanks for checking out my bio! Suzette My Progress My Fitness Goal: Transformation Story

I started my weight loss journey in July 2007, weighing in at 230 at a height of 5'7". I have struggled with my weight my entire life and recall starting my first of many diets at age 12. Using diets and sometimes also exercise, I would lose weight, only to gain it all back (often plus extra!). Whether "dieting" or not, I often skipped meals (especially breakfast), and would often feel tired and fatigued - I could actually feel my blood sugar level drop. I was in complete denial about my weight and tried with al my might to avoid shopping and any other activities that would make me actually have to acknowledge my size. I finally became so sick and tired of it that I just put my foot down and decided to start eating right and getting some exercise. I did not have lofty goals at first - and I know now that it was because I was afraid to fail (again). I joined a gym and started cutting back on portion size - and I did something I have never really done before... I started eating breakfast everyday and made sure to eat a small snack between each meal. This, along with the weight training, cardio, and supplements, kept my energy up and kept me feeling fuller through the day. Fortunately, I was never a junk food eater - my problems have always come from eating portions that were much too large and also skipping meals (which would make me eat too much when it came time for dinner). Eating smaller meals through the day really helped me change my attitude about food and portion size. I stopped feeling deprived, like I did before when dieting and really started feeling like I can have any good food I would like - as long as it was in moderation. Slowly the weight came off and my body tightened up. People began to notice and the compliments really helped me stay on track. I have lost 78 lbs since that fateful day in July 2007, and I am now on my last 10-15 lbs and am ready to start the P90X program to really get me to the next level of health and fitness! | ||||||||
