I first heard of Beach Body in the Spring of 2003 while channel surfing. I came across the Power 90 infomercial and was instantly intrigued by this guy - Tony Horton, doing an "actual" workout available on DVD! Having searched for years for a workout regiment that would get me in shape yet keep me motivated to workout consistently was a frustrating endeavor. I had tried all the in-home gadgets - didn't work! I had tried many different fad workouts - didn't work! I had even bought a gym membership that took up much of my time (and money) - didn't work! I was looking to get back into "fighting" shape (I was a kickboxer when I was younger), but had resigned myself to the middle age spread, higher cholestorol and blood pressure, and had virtually lost hope of that one last "comeback" and losing my ever-expanding belly. Then I found Tony Horton and Power 90 - and everything changed!

I excitedly ordered the program and supplements and eagerly anticipated delivery. Just by watching the infomercial I knew P90 was no fad exercise program, and when it arrived I couldn't wait to start "training" again. The first two weeks were tough - really tough, but I was committed to completing the 90 days without missing a day. Those twelve weeks passed before I knew it. It was hard to believe I had completed the program so fast, but the changes in my physique were not hard to believe! I was no longer that bloated, over-weight, out of shape, blob. Now I was (and still am) feeling strong, vibrant, and healthy - just like I did when I was in my 20s!

I had my confidence back in my athleticism and abilities, and my muscular strength and endurance helped me and my wife rescue 3 people who were drowning in the San Francisco Bay Delta, as I had to tread water with a person in-tow, without a rope or a lifejacket, for nearly 15 minutes in strong winds and hazardous water currents - I could never have accomplished this had I not been in top physical condition as a result of P90.

After P90 I graduated to Power Half Hour and used that series for my next 90 day cycle and continued to see improvements in my overall fitness and health. I had also become a Beach Body Coach and was helping others achieve their fitness goals. Then came P90X.

P90X took my fitness to a level I had only experienced previously as an Airbourne Infantryman in the US Army. This program required total commitment to the workout and to my nutrition. Beyond a shadow of a doubt P90X is the most comprehensive, total-body fitness system ever designed (and I've tried them all!). From a total-body fitness perspective (both nutrionally and physically) I was and continue to be in the best shape of my life. I've been using P90X since its first release in 2004 and it is still my primary workout - and it still kicks my butt!

January 2008, Beach Body released the sequel - P90X+ which is the natural compliment to P90X. I am currently using the Tony Horton 1-on-1 dvd series, and I like to incorporate all three; P90X, X+, and 1-on-1 in my weekly workouts. I have witnessed some very impressive changes both in my physique and in my nutritional choices as a result. I continue to focus on my nutrition and food choices. I remain committed to the 2,000 calorie per day plan. Another important addition to my workout routine has been my Jeet Kune Do workouts, plus incorporating Tai Chi and Qi Gong exercises as a regular part of my exercise regimen. Variety is truly the spice of life and especially with exercise. I also participate regularly in the community message boards. Being part of a daily support group has really inspired and motivated me to work just that much harder to achieve my fitness goals.
