Knoxville, TN I'm 39 years old married with 2 children. I work for a major Newspaper organization. In 2004 I, along with my wife, joined L.A Weight Loss and I lost 62 lbs over 4 months. I began to stress eat and little by little 30 lbs returned. My current job is a desk job and I sit most of the day. So in a effort to stop it before it gets out of control I have decided to take control of it.
My weight has been up and down for years. As a kid I was husky, I was active and played all day outside but would just eat and eat all night. The first time I can remember a having a problem with my weight was when I was 10 years old. My sister, who was 36 years old, had died and our world turned upside down. About a year later a Aunt I hadn't seen in a while walked up to me and said, my Goodness you have gotten fat. From then I on I felt like it was wrong to be fat. I was still husky but looking back at the pictures now I don't see me as fat, but thought I was because someone told me I was.
In high school I dropped the husky weight and was mindful of what I ate and my activity level. My weight at graduation was 170 lbs. When I married my wife in 1990 my weight was 195, I was 5'11" and in pretty good shape. Then life happened, babies came and so did the weight. I hit 240 in 1994 and that was a turning point. I began working out and watching what I ate and over a few months I lost the 40 lbs and kept it off even through the loss of my father.
I kept the weight off for almost 5 years. In 2000 I suffered a knee injury and ended up having surgery. At the same time my job changed I began to travel. I often would leave the house at 5:30 to drive across the state, grabbing breakfast at McDonalds and then drive home that afternoon grabbing either McDonalds or Burger King again. I spent about 70% of my work week in the car, by the time I got home I was tired and eating right just wasn't on my mind. I gained all my weight back plus a bit more. In 2004 we joined L.A. Weight loss and I shed the pounds again. I kept what I learned as far as eating and believe that has keep most of the weight off. However, I see old habits coming back.
I hate going to a gym so when I seen P90X it really grabbed my attention. I like the fact that the "trainer" are there for me on the screen to push me. I am excited to see where this trip takes me. I've never really known what I was doing in the gym or even on my own.
I counting down the 90 days and committed to making a life change.

I officially started this March 3, 2008 weighing in at 226. My chest was 41 inches, my 42 inches and so was my hips. Now today I took my measurements at day 55 and my chest was 45 1/2" and my hips was 40 and my hips was 39. So I am seeing a difference, not great buldging mucsles I wanted, but I'm learning that will come in time and with more hard work. So until then I will keep pushing play and working towards day 90!
