It all started when I was in high school. I was a very, very hefty lad. As a sophomore, I topped out at 315 lbs while playing football. After a season playing at that weight, I realized that it was very hard on my knees and I was slow as all get up. I started working out hard in the weight room and running more, which helped get me down to about 285. Then came college... I didn't gain the traditional freshman 15 (thank goodness) because I was working out with some of the top D1 coaches in the nation. It was easy to make time to work out because I was playing collegiate football for 3 hours a day and lifting weights at least an hour a day. My eating habits weren't great, but with all the activity, it didn't matter much. I got down to 250 by my junior year by cleaning up my diet. Once I finished football, I went overseas to teach english. The lifestyle in the Middle East is much less senentary, so we walked a ton, and ate when we could. I still found a hole in the wall gym to work out in, but it wasn't much. I lost alot of muscle, and got down to 215, which happens to be my lowest since grade school! I got married to an amazing woman, and my weight has since started to go back up. I'm up to 230 and I don't like it. That's why I deceded to buy p90x. I just needed some help getting leaner and keeping my muscle. Let's see how it goes...
